Answers for this Question

The ex-showroom price of Maruti Celerio VXI in Kanpur is INR 4,47,714 as it is also mentioned on Maruti's official website. The on-road price will be somewhere around INR 5,01,000 inclusive of RTO and Insurance charges. If you find any difference in the ex-showroom price, you may ask the dealer to provide you the bifurcation of price that will clear most of the confusion.

There is a difference in ex-showroom price itself which is mainly due to various state level tax on vehicles and transportation cost. And as the ex-showroom cost is different, the Road Tax would definitely be different, due to percentage value and different rates in various states.

Now talking about on-road price, it may also vary. The reasons are mentioned below:

- Different state level sales taxes

- Different Octroi charges

- Different Logistics/Handling charges

- Different registration charge

Both the siblings are indeed good options to go for.

Things We Like in Celerio (4.2 - 5.38 Lakh, ex-showroom New Delhi)

    - Healthy in-cabin space despite the compact proportions.
    - Peppy petrol and frugal diesel engines.
    - Safety features such as ABS (Anti Lock Braking System) and Airbags available as an option across the range.
    - Optional AMT across variants. Easy to drive in the congested city.

Things We Like in Wagon R (4.15 - 5.35 Lakh, ex-showroom New Delhi)

    - Space. A spacious hatchback in the truest sense of the word.
    - Peppy petrol engine. Just the right amount of power for the city.
    - Optional Airbags and ABS across all trims.
    - Optional AMT ups the convenience quotient in an already easy to drive car.

    Automated Manual Transmission (AMT)

Both the cars have same heart. They have K10B Engine which generates 67.04bhp so expect a similar performance from both the cars. The AMT on the litte Maruti isn’t the most polished units around; there are slight jerks when the car upshifts or downshifts. That said, they can be easily overlooked during daily commutes. You can also take charge of the gears yourself by shifting it into manual (M) mode.

    CD Says:

The Maruti Suzuki WagonR is still one of the best hatchbacks to buy in its segment, in spite of it being given a major upgrade back in 2010! Nothing combines space, performance, fuel-efficiency, low running costs and long-term reliability like the WagonR.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio: The car that introduced Indians to affordable automatic-transmission cars, thanks to its AMT, the Celerio was launched to fill in the grey area between the Wagon R and the Swift, after the Ritz was discontinued. It is not a bad car per se, but the multitude of options in the market don't help it stand out. It has compact dimensions, efficient and reliable engines and a whole lot of efficiency & is a no non-sense hatchback.
