Am planning to buy a Creta (Petrol/Automatic) in October 2016. Should I delay my purchase in view of prices likely to go down after GST is implemented. I can afford to wait. P Choudhury 9882043983
The auto industry is likely to gain from the implementation of the GST since it is expected to reduce logistics costs by removing trade hurdles, paving way for more competitive manufacturing.
The execution of GST will remove the effect of multiplicity of taxes on the cost of goods and services. It will result in lower prices and consecutively, boost demand for automobiles.Assuming that the proposed tax rate of 18-20 percent is accepted, the vehicle prices are expected to decrease.
Well, government want GST Bill to be applicable From 1st April 2017 but due to some legal problems GST Bill is expected to come into existence by late 2017.
So, it's more of your personal choice. If you can wait for an year then you must wait or else if you wish to buy a car in this year, you'll have to pay the current price.
I recently purchased a Maruti Suzuki swift lxi optional from Poddar khanapara dealer in Guwahati, Assam. In the invoice bill they have mentioned the car price as 4,18,638 and after taxes came around 4.83 lakhs. But the on road price is somewhat 5.74 lakhs. So when I enquired about it with the dealer they said, it's the factory price of the car and they don't mention the on road price in the invoice bill. I'm a bit confused right now. Is it true?
Alfareed, The invoice must be containing all the components of on-road price that you have paid for. It will be having ex-showroom price, RTO charges, Insurance charges and other charges (standard accessories, Extended warranty, Logistic and Handling charges etc). If you have found any price difference on our website and the dealer quotation then please let us know the same. You can highlight it to us on email@example.com
There are ample options available, if you want a car in a budget bracket of 23 lakhs. Amongst them, some have economical maintenance, some possess outstanding looks, some come with good mileage and better power.
Which one will be best suitable for you ? It all depends on your driving requirements. Please share the segment (hatchback/sedan/suv), fuel type (petrol or diesel), transmission (manual or automatic) etc. that you prefer, so that we can help you to choose the best car as per your requirements.
