Am planning to buy a Creta (Petrol/Automatic) in October 2016. Should I delay my purchase in view of prices likely to go down after GST is implemented. I can afford to wait. P Choudhury 9882043983

The auto industry is likely to gain from the implementation of the GST since it is expected to reduce logistics costs by removing trade hurdles, paving way for more competitive manufacturing.

The execution of GST will remove the effect of multiplicity of taxes on the cost of goods and services. It will result in lower prices and consecutively, boost demand for automobiles.Assuming that the proposed tax rate of 18-20 percent is accepted, the vehicle prices are expected to decrease.

Well, government want GST Bill to be applicable From 1st April 2017 but due to some legal problems GST Bill is expected to come into existence by late 2017.

So, it's more of your personal choice. If you can wait for an year then you must wait or else if you wish to buy a car in this year, you'll have to pay the current price.
