Engineering point of view, the 3 cylinder has a better mileage for highways and 4 cylinder is good for the city because in low speed you need a better pick up and in that way peetrol consumption is much more. In highways the 3-cylinders gives a better petrol consumption than the 4-cylinders.
The Car deco should certify what I am saying or find out the answer and e-mail me to: firstname.lastname@example.org or any engineer of automobile qualified is requested to answer and sent it to my mail address for my knowledge.
This question is important for those who are selecting Hyundai i20 Magna which has 4-cylinder and New Polo which has 3-cylinder. Which is advisable to buy the car?

As far as difference between the three and four cylinder engine is concern, the basic difference is in design and work process.
It's a personal choice to go with a car engine with three cylinder or four cylinder. if you are planning to buy a car mainly for city driving, better comfort with using AC most of the times, it's better to go for a four cylinder engine. On the other hand, if you give more importance to fuel economy, powerful and better operating expense and generally drives in high-speed lanes, the three cyl engine is better for you.

In my opinion you should go for the new Maruti Wagon R which has been launched in a completely new look and style. The New Wagon R is loaded with all new generation features including dual front SRS airbags, ABS, Central locking, key-less entry, anti-theft alarm.
While the Hyundai i10 Magna is available with a price tag of about Rs 4.04 lakh(Delhi Ex-showroom price), in almost similar price you can get the fully loaded top version of New wagon R (Maruti Wagon R VXI BS IV with ABS). Thank You,
