i want to buy a petrol version of compact suv.....my monthly running around 800 km....i m confused between duster and ecosport.....ecosport waiting period is tooo long .but duster looks wow...which one is best for me...please suggest????...
The comparison between the two cars have been going on for a while now.In terms of looks the Duster looks more practical, while the Ecosport is more sassy and stylish. The Duster is less flashy and has a subdued design. Ecosport parked alongside the Duster looks smaller. So if you need more stylish looks, Ecosport is a winner.
Also, in terms of the price, the Ecosport is much cheaper than the Duster with the top variant being a whopping 2 lakh cheaper than the Duster. Where the duster gains ground over Ecosprt is the rear seat. It is wider and the window area is much larger and feels airy. Though, there is a tinny feel and you know that in build quality the Duster has cut a few corners. But, the front cabin is quite good. The dash feels nice only let down by the plastic quality. The buttons to adjust the mirrors and the Sat Nav is in tricky places and does not feel right.
The boot though of the Duster is larger than Ecosport and also more smarter to load. The Ecosport is more loaded in terms of the features. Also the dash is very upmarket and more stylish. The central control gives you the feel of an air pilot and feels very nice. The backseat is also very gracious in the Ecosport. Surprisingly, even though it is smaller than Duster, there is ample legroom and great under thigh support in the backseat of the Ecosport.
In terms of driving, the Duster is very good at low revs and you don't need to use the gearbox as much because it ambles around in high gears quite easily. Thoush the clush is hydraulic and a bit too heavy. The Ecosport on the contrast has more lag and the power transmission is not as linear as in the Duster. In rolling acceleration runs, the Duster is quicker than the Ecosport.
But on the highway, the Ecosport is better than the Duster. Ecosport would be better at overtaking maneuvers and would drive commandingly on the highways. Ecosport is also better insulated making the driving experience much more refined especially when revving hard. The steering of the Ecosport is more versatile of the two.In the city, the steering is more light and easy also weighs up nicely in the corners, making it more fun to drive. But on the bumpy, choppy roads, the Duster is better as it absorbs the bumps much more easily than the Ecosport. So it is a much better behaving car on the tricky roads.
Of the two cars, Ecosport is a much better package and considering that it is fortunes cheaper than the Duster, it is the obvious choice. So, if you are the person who is ready to wait for some time in order to save money and also get a much nicer package overall, go for the Ecosport. There is a reason afterall as to why it has that waiting period and the Duster doesn't.

Also what is the expected price of Hyundai Tucson launching on November 14th.
I recently purchased a Maruti Suzuki swift lxi optional from Poddar khanapara dealer in Guwahati, Assam. In the invoice bill they have mentioned the car price as 4,18,638 and after taxes came around 4.83 lakhs. But the on road price is somewhat 5.74 lakhs. So when I enquired about it with the dealer they said, it's the factory price of the car and they don't mention the on road price in the invoice bill. I'm a bit confused right now. Is it true?
Alfareed, The invoice must be containing all the components of on-road price that you have paid for.
