Land Cruiser Prado VX L Review

Toyota Kirloskar Motors, the fully owned subsidiary of the Japanese automobile giant Toyota has rolled out the updated version of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado in India. The company has done modifications to the interiors and exteriors of this luxurious SUV. However, the Japanese automaker hasn't changed the technicalities of the engine and retained the same 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel motor, which is also powering the Toyota Fortuner. Coming to the exteriors, this new model received an all new swanky front radiator grille with a lot of chrome treatment on it. The company has refurbished the design of this grille and made it look much bolder and more pronounced. Also, the headlight cluster is equipped with signature LED daytime running lights, which are further enhancing the supreme stance of the vehicle. Inside this SUV, the company has installed an advanced audio system integrated to a 7-inch touchscreen display that also supports USB and AUX-In input. Apart from this, the vehicle also features a “Crawl Control” function, a feature that allows the driver to focus more on steering by reducing the necessity of brakes and accelerator on slippery roads and terrains. The company is selling this updated version in five body paint options including a White Pearl Crystal Shine, Grey Metallic, Silver Metallic, Black and Dark Blue Metallic.

 

Exteriors:

 

The exterior design of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has been updated with an attractive new set of cosmetics. These are just minor cosmetic updates that include a refurbished radiator grille, improved headlight cluster with brand new LED daytime running lights and the chrome garnish at the rear. Apart from these, the rest of the design of the vehicle remains to be the same. The front facade has a very bold and hefty grille with a lot of chrome treatment on it. This radiator grille also houses a prominent chrome plated company logo that enhances the stunning looks of the vehicle. The headlight cluster is big yet very sleek with swept-back design and it houses the projector type automatic head lamps. This headlight cluster will also house the LED daytime running lights, which will enhance the premium appeal of the vehicle. The front bumper is painted in body color and it received a slight modification and fitted with a chin guard just under it. The sides of this sports utility vehicle hasn't received much of change and it remained entirely the same. The wheel arches of this SUV have been affixed with a set of ten spoke styled 18 inch alloy wheels. There is just a minor update given to the rear profile of this SUV with a chrome garnish on the boot lid. Apart from this, not much of change has been given to the vehicle. . While the rear body colored bumper has been fitted with a pair of reflectors to add to the safety quotient of this Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUV.

 

Interiors:

 

The interior section of this SUV also received a set of new features, which will enhance the luxury and convenience of the occupants. The company has done up the interiors this SUV very luxuriantly. This refurbished version of Toyota Land Cruiser Prado comes with the same old D4-D, 3.0-litre, four cylinder based turbocharged diesel power plant that produces 2982cc displacement capacity. This engine also comes with an inter-cooler, common rail type fuel supply system that enhances the power of this diesel motor. This diesel mill has the ability to generate an incredible 170.6bhp at 3400rpm, while yielding a maximum torque output of about 410Nm in between 1600 to 2800rpm, which is quite remarkable for an SUV of such stature.
