Rapid 2014-2016 1.6 MPI Ambition With Alloy Wheel Review

One of the popular series in the sedan segment of Skoda is the Rapid series. This mid-range variant, Skoda Rapid 1.6 MPI Ambition with Alloy Wheel , stands with a set of alloy wheels as the name suggests. It is the petrol version fitted with a 1598cc, 4-cylinder in-line engine under the hood. It is efficient in producing 103.5bhp of power and 153Nm of torque. Capable to attain a top speed of 165 Kmph and deliver a mileage of 15 Kmpl make this trim quite luring to choose from other offerings. It is available in five various shades and the design of it is very attractive. Front fascia is dominated by the chrome applied radiator grille, powerful headlamps on either sides and a vast windscreen. Sides have body colored external mirrors as well as door handles. With alloy wheels of 15-inches adorned to enhance the overall appearance, looks wise, this trim gains impression. Comfort wise, a climatronic based air-conditioner unit with adjustable dual air vents, 2-Din Skoda audio player with multiple players and comfortable seats offer luxury to the passengers. Exteriors:

In the front, one can find a large windscreen that offer a wider view of the road ahead. It is also fitted with intermittent wipers. Internally, it holds a cabin decorated in the theme of Ivory and Mocca. Gear shift selector, center console and the door handles have a chrome application. The seats are wrapped with fabric and are quite comfortable. Dashboard, steering wheel, glove box and the central console are two-toned that enhances the cabin's regal stance. Utility space consists of cup and bottle holders, space under front seat center armrest, card holder and coat hooks. It is based on a robust hydraulic dual diagonal circuit vacuum assisted braking system. In terms of suspension, the front axle is fitted with a McPherson strut that has a torsion stabilizer and lower triangular links. On the other hand, we can find compound link crank system to its rear axle, which helps in reducing the impacts by the shocks on the roads. It is further mated by a rack and pinion based electro mechanic power assisted steering system. It has been bestowed by a 10.6 meters turning radius, which is very impressive.

Comfort Features:

There is a 2-Din audio unit that can support a USB, an Aux-in and also has a SD/MMC data card reader too. A GSM telephone preparation with Bluetooth connectivity is offered and their control switches are mounted onto the steering wheel. A multi-function display can be seen integrated onto the dashboard. The lighting of this variant consists of reading lamps at the front while the rear end of the cabin have spot lamps. Apart from these, the boot compartment too is offered with illumination for additional assistance. Both the driver and the co-passenger is provided with sun-visors while the passenger side visor is fitted with a vanity mirror. A remote control release of the boot lid is offered to alleviate the effort of the driver. There is an engine immobilizer with a special floating code system for keeping theft related worries at bay. The audio player too has a security code.
