    Mahindra SUVs

With the growing demand for cars in India, safety has become one of the most important factors when choosing a new car. Over the past years, Mahindra has evolved as one of the safest Indian car manufacturers by introducing stronger body structures, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and a long list of active and passive safety features. Mahindra is now known and appreciated for its high level of occupant protection.

Latest Mahindra SUVs like the XUV 3XO, Thar Roxx, Scorpio N, and XUV 7XO display Mahindra’s focus on safety through a combination of crash tests, modern electronic aids, and advanced driver assistance (ADAS) technologies. Here's a closer look at how these SUVs stand out in terms of safety.

    Mahindra’s Growing Focus On ADAS

Mahindra was the first company in India to embed a Level-2 ADAS in any car in India, with the launch of the XUV700 (now known as XUV 7XO) back in 2021. These ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features are programmed to ease driving by reducing the chances of accidents by assisting the driver in various situations. These systems use cameras, radars, and sensors to monitor the surroundings and intervene when necessary.

Over time, Mahindra has equipped all its modern SUVs, including the XUV 3XO, Thar Roxx, Scorpio N, and XUV 7XO, with a Level-2 ADAS, ensuring that every drive is a safe one.  These features not only improve convenience on highways but also enhance overall road safety. Of all these cars, it is the XUV 7XO that offers the most comprehensive ADAS package.

    Mahindra’s Strong Performance At Global-NCAP

Mahindra’s safety success story began from the crash testing facilities of Global NCAP, after which awareness was spread about how safe these SUVs are, which is a key reason behind Mahindra’s growing reputation in the safety tech. The tests at Global NCAP examine a car’s structural integrity, adult and child occupant protection, and the effectiveness of safety equipment, which gives an evaluation of whether a vehicle is able to protect occupants in the event of a crash. Mahindra has always managed to get high crash-test ratings at Global NCAP, which not only indicates how well engineered these SUVs are, but also gives prominent buyers great confidence about real-world occupant safety.

    Mahindra Thar Roxx

Mahindra’s first SUV to be tested at the Global NCAP was the XUV300 (now sold as the XUV 3XO), which was also among the first made-in-India SUVs to achieve a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating, setting a benchmark in the compact SUV segment. Next in line to be tested was the XUV700 (now XUV 7XO), launched in 2021. It also achieved a full 5-star Global NCAP rating, earning high scores for both adult and child occupant protection. The Scorpio-N also secured a 5-star Global NCAP rating, demonstrating that even a rugged ladder-on-frame SUV can deliver excellent crash protection.

While the Thar Roxx has not yet been tested by Global NCAP, what we do know is that this SUV is built on a strong structure as well, which has already received a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP, further highlighting Mahindra's continued focus on occupant safety across its SUV range.

Why Is Safety A Priority For Mahindra?

Safety is a very big priority, not only for Mahindra but for every automobile manufacturer across the globe. To Mahindra, safety has been one of the key points while developing any product. A decade ago, Mahindra was known for its rugged feel and enginess but today the company has built a reputation that speaks to top-notch safety with every product, along with powerful engines, which were always given.

The brand has significantly strengthened the safety credentials of its SUV lineup. All models feature a strong body structure, high Global-NCAP crash test ratings, and the latest safety equipment, including ADAS.
