Innova 2.5 G (Diesel) 7 Seater Review

Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese automaker headquartered in Aichi, Japan and it is the thirteenth largest company in the world by revenue. This company entered India in 1997 in a joint venture with the Kirloskar Group. This is the fourth largest car manufacturer in India after Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Mahindra. Toyota India has finally rolled out the much awaited facelift version of its Toyota Innova MPV in the Indian automobile market. The company has launched this multipurpose vehicle in four trims with both seven and eight seat configurations along with BS III and BS IV engine option as well. Among these trims, the VX and GX trims received major cosmetic changes, while E and G trims remains same as the current model. The Japanese automaker has also rolled out a new top end variant to its line up and named as Z grade. The Toyota Innova 2.5 G (Diesel) 7 Seater is a mid level variant, which is powered by a 2.5-litre, 2KD-FTV, 16 valve, turbo inter-cooled diesel engine that churns out a peak output power of 100bhp of 3600rpm and produces a maximum torque of 200Nm in between 1400 to 3400rpm. The exterior styling of this MPV remains the same. It comes with stylish front and rear bumpers, a black finished radiator grille with three horizontal slats, body colored outside rear view mirrors and many more such features. The interior cabin includes an air conditioner, sun visor for both driver and co-passenger and a three spoke steering wheel. The company has blessed this vehicle with good comfort and safety features that assures a safe journey for the passengers. The list of aspects includes an engine immobilizer, a GOA body structure, front wipers and many more sophisticated features. This engine is coupled with a five-speed manual transmission gearbox that transmits power to the front wheels. This trim offers an impressive mileage of 9.0 Kmpl in the city and 12.99 Kmpl on the highways under standard conditions.

Braking and Handling :

This variant is perfectly balanced with an excellent suspension system. The front suspension system of this MPV has a double wishbone, while the rear is fitted with a four link fitted by a lateral rod. The front wheels of this vehicle are fitted with ventilated disc brakes and the rear wheels are bestowed with leading-trailing drum brakes. The company has blessed this MPV with 15-inch steel wheels, while these wheels are covered with tubeless radial tyres of size 205/65 R15, which have an excellent grip on the roads.
