Swift 2014-2021 VXI Optional Review

The facelifted version of Swift hatchback series is launched in the market with both petrol and diesel engine options. Among the various trims, Maruti Swift VXI is a mid range petrol variant. Its exteriors gets a few updates like a redesigned radiator grille that looks more aggressive and a tweaked bumper in body color. The pair of bright fog lamps with silver inserts further gives a stylish look to its frontage. The side profile now features electrically adjustable ORVMs with side turn indicators and there are full wheel caps equipped to its steel rims. It is blessed with refurbished interiors that has newly added aspects like rich premium fabric upholstery, wraparound door trims with sporty silver accents, rear 60:40 split foldable seat and an integrated music system with a CD player and four speakers as well. On the other hand, it is loaded with some standard protective aspects that ensures maximum protection. The list includes dual horn, security alarm system, high mount stop lamp, child safety locks and so on. It is being offered with a number of comfort features as well like four power windows with driver side auto down function, remote back door opener, sun visors with passenger side vanity mirror, instrument panel with multi information display and a few others that helps in giving a comfortable driving experience. As far as its engine specifications are concerned, it has a 1.2-litre petrol engine that is mated with a five speed manual transmission gear box. This hatch is presently offered in six exciting color options for the buyers to choose from. These include Glistening Grey, Mysterious Violet, Pearl Arctic White, Silky Silver, Fire Red and Granite Grey as well. It has a captivating outer appearance and comes equipped with many styling aspects. The rear end looks quite decent with a few aspects like a radiant tail light cluster and an expressive boot lid that includes company's emblem on it. Interiors:

This mid range variant is bestowed with a large cabin that is packed with a number of sophisticated features. Engine and Performance:

This Maruti Swift VXI trim is incorporated with a 1.2-litre, K-series petrol engine that has variable valve timing (VVT) technology. It has 4-cylinders, 16 valves and has the ability to displace 1197cc. It is integrated with a multi point fuel injection supply system and based on a double overhead camshaft based valve configuration. As claimed by the company, it can return a maximum mileage of 20.4 Kmpl that is rather good. This motor is skillfully coupled with a five speed manual transmission gear box. It can attain a top speed in the range of 150 to 155 Kmph and breaks the speed barrier of 100 Kmph in about 14 seconds. This mill delivers a peak power of 83.1bhp at 6000rpm and generates a maximum torque output of 115Nm at 4000rpm.

Braking and Handling:

It has an efficient braking system wherein, a robust set of ventilated disc brakes are fitted to its front wheels and the rear ones have drum brakes. The front axle is affixed with a McPherson strut, while the rear one has torsion beam type of mechanism. Furthermore, it includes a rack and pinion based electric power assisted steering system that is tilt adjustable. It reduces the efforts of driving in heavy traffic conditions, while supporting a minimum turning radius of 4.8 meters.

This Maruti Swift VXI trim is blessed with many interesting features that helps in enhancing its comfort level. It has a manual air conditioning unit with a heater, which regulates the temperature inside. The integrated music system features a CD player, radio tuner and has four speakers at front and rear. It also supports USB socket, auxiliary input and has a speed based automatic volume control. There is a roof mounted antenna that helps in better reception of radio signals. It has all four power windows with auto down function on driver's side. Other aspects like a 12V power socket, tilt adjustable steering column, day and night inside rear view mirror, lane change indicator, keyless entry, sun visors with passenger side vanity mirror and a few others, which will further improve the level of comfort.
