Q3 2012-2015 S Edition Review
Audi is one of the highly acclaimed luxurious car maker in the world and it has a splendid fleet of vehicles in its stable. Audi Q3 is one such stylish SUV, which comes in three diesel and a single petrol variant. This Audi Q3 S Edition is the base diesel trim, which is equipped with a 2.0-litre diesel engine with exhaust gas turbocharging function. This power plant can generate 138.1bhp along with 320Nm of peak torque output. It is incorporated with a direct injection fuel supply system that helps in delivering 11.72 Kmpl on the highways. At the present, the car manufacturer is selling this sports utility vehicle in eight exterior paint options for the buyers to choose from. The list of colors include Glacier White Metallic, Misano Red Pearl Effect, Caribou Brown Metallic, Cobalt Blue, Phantom Black with Pearl Effect, Amalfi White, Samoa Orange and Ice Silver with metallic finish. The company has given this vehicle an attractive body design and it is fitted with striking features such as a set of alloy wheels, roof rails, large windscreen with rain sensing wipers, body colored bumper and so on. On the other hand, with a set of innovative features, it provide a comfortable and safe driving experience. Exteriors:
The company has designed this SUV with an aerodynamic body structure and fitted with a number of striking features. To begin with the side profile, its wheel arches are equipped with a set of 16 inch alloy wheels, which are covered with 215/65 R16 sized tubeless radial tyres. Then the door handles, ORVMs and roof rail are painted in body color and gives it a stylish appearance. These external wing mirrors are electrically adjustable and foldable along with heating function. The rear end is equipped with well lit taillight cluster, a body colored bumper with fog lamps and a large tailgate with rear applique and company insignia. The windscreen is integrated with a defogger along with wash and wipe function. It also has a centrally located LED third brake light. Coming to the frontage, which is designed with a bold chrome plated radiator grille, which is embedded with a company emblem in the center. This grille is surrounded by a large headlight cluster, which is incorporated with high intensity halogen lamps and day time running lights. The body colored bumper has a wide air dam for cooling the engine and it is flanked by a couple of fog lamps. The windshield is integrated with a pair of light and rain sensing wipers as well.
Interiors:
The spacious internal cabin of this Audi Q3 S Edition variant comes with LED interior lighting package, which gives it a plush appeal. The well cushioned seats provide ample leg and shoulder room for all occupants and these seats are covered with leatherette B-grain upholstery. The company has given this SUV a number of utility based aspects, which include cup and bottle holders, rear center armrest with storage box, a spacious illuminated glove box with cooling effect, door map pockets, large boot compartment and so on. It also has chrome finished inside door handles and leather covered 4-spoke steering wheel that is mounted with audio and call control buttons. The company has mated this diesel mill with a six speed manual transmission gear box, which transmits the engine power to its front wheels. It allows the SUV to attain a top speed of 202 Kmph, while, it can cross the speed barrier of 100 Kmph in close to 9.9 seconds. This diesel motor can churn out a maximum power output of 138.1bhp at 4200rpm in combination with a peak torque output of 320Nm between 1750 to 2500rpm.
Braking and Handling:
All the wheels of this stylish SUV are equipped with disc brakes and it is further enhanced by anti lock braking system along with electronic brake force distribution and hydraulic brake assist function. The front axle comes equipped with McPherson spring strut with lower wishbones. While the rear axle is equipped with a 4-link type of mechanism, which has separate damper arrangement function as well. This suspension mechanism is further assisted by aluminum sub-frame, which keeps it well balanced. Apart from these, the company has also equipped it with traction control, electronic differential lock, hill start assist function and electronic stabilization program. It also has a rack and pinion based electromechanical power steering system, which is speed sensitive and makes handling effortless.
Comfort Features:
This Audi Q3 S Edition variant is bestowed with a number of sophisticated features for the convenience of the occupants. The list of features include air conditioning system, rear parking aid, driver information with quite a few functions, 4-way lumbar support, voice dialogue system , reverse load folder and many other such features. Then for in-car entertainment it has Audi music interface, concert radio and Bluetooth connectivity. The multi-functional steering wheel is integrated with call, music and cruise control switches. In addition, it also has a front center armrest, folding rear seat back and electromechanical parking brake.
