Bolt Quadrajet XT Review

Tata Bolt Qudrajet XT is the top end diesel variant in its mode line up, which is fitted with a 1.3-litre diesel power plant. It has the capacity of producing a maximum power of 73.9bhp in combination with a peak torque of 190Nm. This hatchback comes with an efficient braking and suspension mechanism, which keeps it well balanced and stable. This hatchback is offered with an attractive body design along with a number of striking features. The list of aspects include an elegant set of alloy wheels, front fog lamps with chrome bezel, smoked projector headlamps, large boot lid, body colored bumpers and many other such aspects. At the same time, its internal section is quite spacious and take in five passengers with ease. It is incorporated with well cushioned seats, speed sensitive steering wheel that is mounted with various control buttons, a smooth dashboard and an advanced music system, which keeps its occupants entertained throughout their journey. There are also some vital safety aspects incorporated like airbags for driver and co-passenger, central locking system, an advanced engine immobilizer and rear parking sensors. This vehicle is competing against the likes of Hyundai i10, Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo, Chevrolet Beat, Maruti Swift and others in this segment. Exteriors:

Starting with the frontage, it has a bold radiator grille with a lot of chrome treatment and it is embossed with a prominent company emblem in the center. This grille is flanked by a well-lit headlight cluster that is powered by projector headlamps and side turn indicator. Just below this, it has a body colored bumper, which houses an air dam. Coming to the rear end of this hatchback, it has a striking wrap around tail light cluster that comes with signature LED tail lamps. The large boot lid has a thick chrome plated strip and variant badging engraved on it. It has a body colored bumper that has a pair of fog lamps and a courtesy lamp as well. Its windscreen has a defogger along with a wiper. Its sporty rear spoiler is integrated with a high mounted stop lamp. This stylish hatchback is designed with an overall length, width and height of 3825mm, 1695mm and 1562mm respectively. It has a wheelbase of 2470mm, while the minimum ground clearance is about 165mm.

Interiors:


The internal section of this Tata Bolt Quadrajet XT trim is designed in a snazzy java black color scheme and it is incorporated with a number of utility based aspects. The list of features includes cup and bottle holders, foldable rear parcel shelf with boot lamp for easy access, interior room light with theater dimming facility, a glove box with pen and card holder. It ha a premium layered dashboard, which houses silver accentuated AC vents, an advanced instrument panel with a number of functions and a sporty steering wheel that has Tata signature in the center. This motor is skillfully paired with a five speed manual transmission gear box that improves the engine's performance and distributes the engine power to its front wheels. It allows the vehicle to zoom towards a top speed of 165 Kmpl and can accelerate from zero to 100 Kmph in close to 12 seconds. With the help of a common rail based direct injection fuel supply system, it can generate about 17-23 Kmpl, which is quite good for this class.

Braking and Handling:

Its front wheels are fitted with a set of disc brakes, while the rear ones have conventional drum brakes. It is further assisted by anti lock braking system along electronic brake force distribution as well as corner stability control. On the other hand, its front and rear axles are assembled with a dual path independent McPherson strut along with an anti roll bar and a semi independent twist beam type of mechanism respectively. Both these axles are further assisted by coil springs. The handling is made easier with the help of electric power assisted steering system, which comes with speed sensitivity function. It is also tilt adjustable and supports a minimum turning radius of 5.1 meters, which is rather good for this segment.
