Range Rover 2013-2014 3.0 Vogue Review
The Land Rover Range Rover is a highly popular vehicle in the luxury SUV segment. It is available in numerous trim levels among which, the Land Rover Range Rover 3.0 Vogue is one of the mid range trim. It comes fitted with a powerful 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel engine that is paired with a sophisticated 8-speed automatics gearbox that distributes the torque output to all the four wheels. It is capable of producing a maximum power of 244.60bhp that yields a peak torque of about 600Nm, which further enables the vehicle to generate a maximum mileage of 14.28 Kmpl. This SUV comes with sophisticated features like Terrain response system that influence the mechanism of braking, transmission and suspension to provide exceptional driving experience on uneven roads. It also has aspects like rear parking sensor including front park distance sensors with visual display that provides enhanced comforts to the driver while parking. The company is also offering some optional features like contrast roof, surround camera, customer configurable interior mood lighting and navigation system. In addition to these, it also gets 20-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels as optional. This SUV comes with a total length of 4999mm, overall width of 2220mm (including wing mirrors) and a decent height of 1835mm.
Exteriors:
This Land Rover Range Rover 3.0 Vogue has a boxy design yet it is very attractive, thanks to the company's signature cosmetics. One of those aspects include the stylishly designed headlight cluster that is incorporated with adaptive xenon headlamps and LED daytime running lights. Another aspect is the front radiator grille that has three horizontally positioned perforated slats. These aspects are complimented by chrome plated Range Rover lettering embossed on the hood. The rear profile too has company's trademark styling aspects in the form of swept-back taillight cluster, which is equipped with LED lights. The rear windscreen is large, flat and is accompanied with a two tone spoiler along with LED high mounted stop lamp . The tailgate looks very sleek and is decorated with Range Rover lettering that is underlined by a metallic strip. Its side profile looks a bit outdated but its classy body structure with striking cosmetics is what gives it an eccentric look. The door handles as well as the ORVM caps are in body color, while the pillars and window sill are in glossy black shade. The overall look of its sides are complimented by a set of 5-spoke, 19-inch alloy wheels, which adds an urbane look to it.
Interiors:
The interiors of this luxury trim are done up magnificently with extensive use of leather, metal and wood inserts. The company has used premium quality Oxford leather upholstery for the front central console, door casing armrest and to the glove box lid as well. You can also find metallic and wood inserts on the door panels, dashboard and on the front central console as well. The interiors have been bestowed with luxurious seating arrangement including center armrest, integrated headrests and have been covered with premium quality Oxford leather upholstery. The cockpit section gets a distinctly designed four spoke steering wheel mounted with multi-functional switches and is incorporated with heating function as well. The space inside the cabin is ample, especially the luggage space is huge, which can be increased by folding the second row bench seats.
Engine and Performance:
This luxury SUV is powered by a 3.0-litre TDV6 diesel engine with a direct fuel injection system. The company has used a DOHC valve configuration with 6-cylinders and 24-valves that makes a displacement of 2993cc . This turbocharged engine can churn out a maximum power of 244.60bhp at 4000rpm that results in generating a peak torque of about 600Nm at just 2000rpm. All the four wheels receives the torque output variably through an advanced 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox. This variant can reach a top speed of approximately 209 Kmph, while breaching the 100 Kmph mark in just 7.90 seconds.
Braking and Handling:
This luxury SUV's front and rear wheels have been fitted with a set of sturdy disc brakes in combination with high performance brake calipers. This sophisticated disc braking mechanism is incorporated with anti lock braking system along with emergency brake assist system and electronic brake force distribution. Furthermore, it is also equipped with electronic stability program and cornering brake control function. The car maker has equipped this trim with adaptive air suspension on both its axles in combination with adaptive dynamics.
Comfort Features:
One of the most important feature of this trim is its luxurious seating. Its front seats are 12-way electrically adjustable with memory function along with heating system and four way lumbar support . The rear bench seats come with load through facility and reclining function as well. This trim is blessed with features like twin blade sun visor, aluminum tread plates with Range Rover lettering, carpet mats, front central console cooler compartment, interior mood lighting, auto dimming interior mirrors and a proficient four zone automatic air conditioning system. This Vogue trim is also blessed with a sophisticated 380W Meridian audio system along with 8-inch full color HD Dual view touchscreen display featuring a TV tuner, Bluetooth connectivity and audio streaming. The leather wrapped multi-functional steering wheel comes with heating function. Furthermore, the car maker is also offering rear seat entertainment system with a touchscreen control.
Safety Features:
The Land Rover Range Rover 3.0 Vogue is one of the mid range variant in its series. Its internal cabin is packed with eight airbags including dual front, side, thorax and pelvis, which minimizes the damage and protects the occupants. This trim is also loaded with advanced programs like dynamic stability control, electronic traction control and roll stability, which improves the safety standards of the vehicle . The automaker has also incorporated anti lock braking system, hill descent control, cornering brake control, electronic brake force distribution and emergency brake assist system, which reinforces the overall braking mechanism.
