Honda Accord Diesel review

There must have been quite a lot of brainstorming done by Honda after which it has finally set itself to bring in the much awaited diesel engines in their cars. Recently, Honda Amaze sedan has been launched, which is the first diesel engine vehicle to be launched in the Indian car market by the company. There are speculations that the premium sedan Honda Accord Diesel will also be launched in the country very soon. There is no official confirmation what so ever on the exact date of the launch as yet. But the news is expected to be announced anytime soon. There is a lot of anticipation revolving this launch as this luxury sedan is a performance packed vehicle and is admired by a lot of car enthusiasts. The populace of the country seems to be delighted by this move of getting in diesel engine vehicles by Honda, as this is one of the very few companies, which does not have a single diesel engine based vehicle and is still doing fantastic business in the country. The possible reason of introducing diesel engine based vehicles in the country finally by the company might be due to the rising petrol price or the gradual dropping in sales of petrol driven Honda cars in the car market. But in all, petrol run Honda cars have been real performers, known for their long life and high resale value. According to the preliminary information, Honda Accord Diesel is expected to come in with the same body and styling as the existing variant, except a diesel engine under the hood. If rumors are to be believed then, the company is expected to launch this diesel engine based Honda Accord by the end of 2014 and is being speculated that it will be costing in the range or Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 25 lakhs. But whenever this elegant sedan will be launched it will certainly give sleepless nights to its contenders like Skoda Superb Diesel, Mercedes Benz C Class, BMW 3-Series and also the VW Passat. It is surely going to be a runaway hit just like magnificent petrol driven sibling. This yet to be launched Honda Accord Diesel sedan will certainly be a stunner, as it will be a complete package with captivating exteriors, plush and feature laden interiors along with a performance packed diesel engine, which will have pertinent power along with a healthy fuel efficiency. It will carry the same beautiful and swanky look of the petrol version that has given it a distinct presence in the premium sedan segment, since its launch in India way back in year 2003. During its tenure in India since its launch, the popular sedan has undergone quite a few varied changes with respect to the engine, looks, interiors, comfort and safety aspects as well.

This was done in year 2007 and then once again in year 2010, but now with the diesel engine based version coming in, the customers are eagerly waiting to lay their hands on it as soon as it is launched. Honda Accord Diesel will mostly have similar external aspects and loaded interiors with sophisticated features from the petrol variants. However, there are some rumors that the company is working on gifting the diesel sedan with a efficient new transmission system. There are also speculations that the exteriors and interiors might be spruced up a bit to make this diesel engine based premium sedan look exquisite as well. Some of the top of the line aspects, which are expected to be included in this upcoming Honda Accord Diesel are electric leather seats, satellite navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity to pair mobile phones, voice activation, an advanced MP3/CD player or a DVD touchscreen with various other input options like a USB interface and Aux-In point along with speakers and steering mounted buttons as well. There are also some unconfirmed reports that the company is planning to integrate some additional features, which will certainly give the upcoming Honda Accord Diesel version, a distinct presence in the car market of India. This diesel sedan is already present in certain European car markets, where the 2.2-litre diesel version is rated as one of the best in the sedan category. Almost all owners of this Honda Accord Diesel have appreciated the company's quality and reliability besides the noise free cabin that has soft touch plastics. The overall length and width of this sedan are expected to be similar to that of the present petrol version. A six-speed manual gearbox is expected to be coupled with the diesel engine in the Honda Accord Diesel. The company could also continue with an optional five speed automatic transmission variant as well. The company is also expected to load this sedan with some crucial and significant safety features as well. These might include six airbags for enhanced protection, an ACE (advanced compatibility engineering) body, G-FORCE control technology (G-CON), ABS, EBD, Front 3 point seat belts with automatic tensioning system, Front active headrests and many more such safety aspects as well. The Honda Accord Diesel will also have ultra comfortable cabin features including an advanced audio system with USB slot, Aux-In port, speakers, mounted controls on steering wheel, adjustable power steering, adjustable seats with lumbar support, rear AC vents and reading lights along with many other such aspects.
