March 6, 2017: Global NCAP crash tested the Ford Figo, which has received an overall safety score of three stars for adult occupants and two stars for children. It was the dual airbag variant of the car that was tested. The car doesn't get safety tech like pretensioners in the front seatbelts or ISOFIX anchorages for child booster seats.
Ford India has entertained the possibility of launching a crossover version of their Figo hatchback. The stock Figo will provide ideal foundations for a crossover variant. The car features a 1.5-litre, 100PS diesel mill, which packs-in plenty of grunt to get the hatchback going and as far as the crossover variant is concerned, a 100PS variant will end-up being the most powerful offering in the segment. Ford will also add touchscreen infotainment system to the Figo facelift that will be launched in 2018. Recently, Ford has announced a price drop on top two trims of the Figo – Titanium and Titanium +. That said, the Figo's pricing starts at Rs 4.66 lakh for the base petrol spec and now goes all the way up to Rs 7.44 lakh (both ex-showroom Delhi) for the top-end diesel variant. Ford has equipped the Trend variants of the Figo with ABS and EBD as standard.
I always wanted to buy a Ford car. They are always a great vehicle for ride and handling, safety, stylish exterior an innovative interior. I was very desperate to buy the First generation Figo. But I ended up with Maruti Suzuki Vdi Diesel as my first car. No Big complaints though except the fact that it has no airbags. I used it for more than 125000 kms under 4 and half years thought its time for a change. Looked at Grand i10, Nissan Micra, i20 Elite, colourSwift Diesel and when Ford launched th read more 2
I am using the all new ford figo 2nd Gen from past 8 months and I love this car a lot because of its power of 100 horses 215NM of torque and its the best car in its segment and beyond in its diesel variant so the pickup and top speed is amazing it can do its 0-100 in just under 10 seconds and a Top Speed of 180Kmph none of the cars in its price point can beat the Pick Up of this beast machine.

I got the delivery of this car on 3rd December and since then it has already been driven more than 3000 km. So, how was my experience? I will start by describing the car first and then will come into the driveability of this car.
Exterior - Ford always had a hexagonal shaped thing on the front of their cars, but this time they designed the front grill in Aston martin style with swept back headlamps. Which looks great and elegant. The side of the car looks great with blackened B-Pillars and a s read more 6
The Figo enters it’s second generation, taking over the reins from what was Ford’s most successful hatch in the country. The 2015 iteration is more powerful, safer and looks as modern as it should. Let’s take a quick look at what the little Ford has to offer.
Things We Like in Figo
Safety - dual airbags standard, 6 airbags on the top-spec
100 PS Diesel engine is frugal as well as fun to drive.
Proportions. Just the right size for the city.
Things We Don't Like in Figo
Automatic not offered in the top-spec variant, thus misses out on some good-to-have features.
Interior quality isn’t the best, feels flimsy. Rivals like the Grand i10 have much better interiors.
Petrol motor lacks punch. Strictly an intra-city runabout.
Stand Out Features
Six-airbags is a segment benchmark. Unheard of in a sub 10 lakh rupee hatchback.
Ford MyKey: Programmable second key to set a speed limit; volume limit. Unique to the Figo. Useful when you want to hand the car to someone who’s just learnt how to drive.
The Ford Figo makes for a nice city commuter. In different guises, it offers convenience, frugality and is fun to drive too. There are certain inconsistencies in quality both on the inside and out; but it isn’t a deal breaker in any manner whatsoever. The Figo is a well - rounded hatch for the city.
"The Figo is a well - rounded hatch for the city."
The petrol engines are refined and will lap up the city commutes with ease. If ‘Fun To Drive’ is a must-have on your checklist for the next car, the diesel is the one for you. Overall, the Figo comes across as a really competitive alternative to the Grand i10, Bolt and the Swift.
Ford Figo when launched in 2009 surprised everyone with it's handling characteristics. It became an instant hit for Ford and can be credited for keeping the American car maker's ship afloat in our market. It was based on the European Mark V Fiesta's platform and had a go-kart like feel in the way it used to t...
Let's face it, the traffic situation isn't going to get any better. Yes, there, ll be new towns, better infrastructure, better roads - the lot. What isn't going to change however, is that traffic snarl at your most hated junction on your way back home. It has been there for ages now, and will be roughly the s...
