If you are looking for a hatch that ticks a lot of boxes, the Baleno is a great option. There's plenty of features, an efficient engine option and more space than a number of more expensive sedans. On the other hand, while the Altroz does not manage to set a new standard in the segment, it will fit right into the mix with a long feature list, sharp looks and comfortable ride quality and safety. The engine refinement remains to be the major chink in the armour. You may compare both the cars accordingly. Do take a test drive in order to get better clarity. Selecting one would depend on the your preference of the segment and required features. If you want better features and willing to sacrifice on the cabin space, then you may go for the Tata Tiago. Whereas, the Maruti Wagon R would be a better pick if you want a spacious car with good boot space and ease of driving. On the other hand, out the premium hatchbcks, the entry-level variant of the Altroz, the XE doesn’t offer much in terms of comfort. But if you’re stretching your budget for a premium hatchback instead of a mid-spec mid-size hatchback, it is worth considering. On top of that, Tata is also offering factory-fitted accessory packages -- a first for this segment -- which allows buyers to get more features without going up an entire variant. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test drive for a better understanding of performance and comfort.
