The naturally aspirated 1.5-liter petrol engine of Hyundai Creta is more refined, smooth as compared to 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine. It would be a great pick if you like calm driving and outright performance is not your priority. Sometime after ignition, it gets so smooth like you can't even tell whether the engine is On or OFF. In order to judge your driving comfort, we would suggest you to take a test drive. Check out authorised dealership details.

    Q.

Is turbo engine faster than normal engine?

Turbochargers enable smaller, more efficient engines to compete with the power and torque ratings of much larger engines. These engines generates power which is needed to pump a specific amount of air to maintain a particular cruising speed. With the proper gearing, smaller engines require a wider throttle opening to pump roughly the same amount of air as a bigger engine. When this air pumping loss is lower with a wider throttle opening, smaller engines prove to be more efficient in their use of air/fuel mixture. This makes turbo engines more powerful than normal engines.

All these cars are capable enough as per your requirements. If we talk about Hyundai Creta, it feels like it’s lifted its game a step up, and in some ways, even a step and a half up with a more sophisticated ride, comfort and features list. But we’re used to Hyundais being leaders of the pack, especially when it comes to features. And the new Creta does have a few misses in the features department, with no reach adjustment for the steering rack and no auto wipers to name a few. So dominating the segment won’t be a cakewalk but Hyundai has certainly done enough to make you want to test drive the Creta first. On the other hand, the Mahindra XUV500 has held on to its roots. It doesn’t bring about any breakthrough changes but focuses on its strengths. Some shortcomings like the flimsy air con vents, lack of simple ergonomically placed spaces for holding a standard smartphone and negligible boot space (with the third row in place) are yet to be addressed though. So, we recommend you to go for XUV500 only if you want a 7-seater car. If we talk about Tata Harrier, with its offerings, the Harrier justify its 20 lakh rupee asking price a bit more convincingly. Had Tata gone all out and bundled in a little more, it’d feel phenomenal value for money — something it pulled off when it was launched initially. If you want an SUV with road presence, cabin space and practicality without breaking the bank, the Tata Harrier is the best choice in the sub-Rs 20 lakh price bracket. You may compare all these cars according to their variants too. Do take a test drive in order to get better clarity. Check out authorised dealership details.
