Born on December 1, 1914, Maserati is an Italian luxury car manufacturer whose foundations lie in the Maserati family. It was the materialization of the efforts of the Maserati brothers, who were all associated with automobiles since the beginning of the 20th century. lfieri, Bindo and Ernesto built 2-litre Grand Prix cars for the now defunct manufacturing company Diatto. Diatto suspended the production of race cars in 1926, which eventually lead to the creation of the first Maserati and the founding of the Maserati marque. One of the first Maseratis won the 1926 Targa Florio. The company then began making Maserati race cars with 4, 6, 8 and 16 cylinders. However, Maserati’s history involves more than its glorious sporting achievements and the launch of great road cars. The Giugiaro-designed Bora, the first mass-produced mid-engined Maserati, was presented at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show; Maserati also built the occasional racing car engine. The 1980s saw the production of a new type of car, with a relatively low purchase price but impressive performance: the Biturbo, of which over 30 different versions appeared, in coupé, 4-door saloon and spyder forms. Besides venturing into the most important markets with high-class and sophisticated models, Maserati also made a successful comeback to the world of racing thanks to the MC12 , the Trofeo and the Trofeo Light. Maserati’s success shows no signs of slowing down. Twelve FIA GT titles have been won since 2005: 2 Manufacturers’ Cups (2005 and 2007), 4 Drivers titles (Bartels-Bertolini in 2006, Thomas Biagi in 2007, Bartels-Bertolini in 2008 and 2009), 5 Team titles (won by the Vitaphone Racing Team since 2005) and 1 Citation Cup in 2007 Ben Aucott (JMB Racing). In addition to this are the three wins in the 24 Hours of Spa (2005, 2006 and 2008).

Inside the Fiat Group, Maserati has been initially associated with Ferrari S.p.A., more recently it is part of the sports car Group with Alfa Romeo.

Since the 20th century, the Maserati brothers , Bindo, Ernesto, Ettore, Carlo and Alfieri have been part of the automobile industry. Ernesto, Alfieri and Bindo made Grand Prix 2 litre for Diatto. Diatto stoped the manufacturing of racing cars in 1926, which lead to the development of Maserati?s first car and lead the foundation of Maserati marque. The first luxury on wheels was driven by Alfieri who in 1926 won Targa Florio. Maserati started developing racing cars alongwith 4, 6, 8 and 16 cylinders. Mario who is an artist is the hand behind the car?s trident emblem. In 1932, Alfieri Maserati died, after him the three other brothers Ettore, Ernesto and Bindo lead the company.
