Datsun History :

The company's journey began in the year 1911 when a Japanese engineer Masujiro Hashimoto laid seeds to established the company called Kwaishinsha Co. in Toyko Japan. After several businesses transactions along with quite a few ups and downs in the year 1931, the Dat Motorcar Co was instrumental in creating the name DATSON for its new car model and later it was changed to DATSUN after Nissan's acquisition. In the year 1934, Nissan Motor Company took full control over the brand and changed the name from Datson to Datsun to honour the the sun depicted in their country's national flag. Another reason is because of the word “SON” means loss in the Japanese language, which is one of the other major reason for the change in the name. Later it went on to create some of the most affordable and high performance cars to the global market and met the aspirations of many individuals along with giving them the happiness of owning a car. Datsun was a highly popular brand in the American automobile market and most of the cars produced by Nissan used the brand name Datsun in that market. In the year 2001 Nissan has marketed its D22 pick up truck, but use of this name is restricted in Japan for that one specific model. In the year 2012, this company has been relaunched and on 15th of July 2013, the company has officially unveiled the Datsun GO hatchback model for Indian market. This four wheeler will go on sale in the year 2014 in four countries including India, Russia, South Africa as well as the Indonesian car market as well.
