Volkswagen Vento Details which version you are using? petrol or disel , n high line or trendline
i want to purchase this car in february. Is it better than honda? whether price is on the Higher side.
If you compare against the Honda means you are planning on the petrol version. For petrol, Honda is a touch ahead... almost as spacious... and Honda has better looking interiors though VW quality is better... drive quality in both is pretty much the same... however, any choice you make between the two is good... both are good cars... will be a choice of price and accessories... where the Honda loses on price but wins on accessories... If you are wanting a diesel engine, then of course there is no comparison...
Hi...I am planning to buy a Vento Petrol and was looking for help in terms of mileage of this car..I am in Delhi.
No clue my friend... I didn't buy one... just went for a test drive. But given that it is a VW and the specs, I would say the mileage should be around 11-13 in the city and around 15 on highways...
Hi, I drvoe this car and found the following Pros 1. Zinc coted heavy body - that is the reason they are giving 6 yrs warrenty on body 2. interiors are ok not great - if you like you can go for leather seats etc 3. features are awesome like one touch window close, pinch sensor, motion sensor, remote boot open, rear bottle rack, arm rest at the back, sear and steering adjustment etc 4. dirving comfort is avg - fiesta is the best (it rounds in 4.9 mtr and vento 5.4 mtr bumper to bumper) Cons 1. Missing steerring controls 2. Stereo system is old and missing features like USB,Bluetooth etc- but you can pay around 15K extra and get those 3. I seriousely found the performance issue in driving if i compair with fiesta 4. if you central lock the door you can open from inside 5. front arm rest is hinderance 6. price is little high By compairing all this i booked vento 1.6 petrol highline. Hope this will be useful for others
One more point i missed. if you book the VW cars be prepared to be ill treated by the dealers. they are new in the market. do not expect any discounts and well treatment. i had a bad experiance and the same i heard for others. Currently petrol version is 3-4 month waiting time and deisal is around 6 month waiting (it seems they had some problem in production) another points is we are not sure what is the service cost of vento over a period of time however they said it is 15000 km service period and no paid service is there
Sujeet, what you are saying is a bit strange... you are pointing out the obvious flaws in the car (based on things that are pretty much standard in all other cars in the segment) and saying that this can be got by paying something outside... if I wanted to pay separately for almost ALL features that come with cars then I am right that this is just a value for money call, as all items that form part of perceived value are missing... if I pay 10 lakh for the top of the line model and an additional 75K for leather seats, audio system with good features and all other kinds of stuff, then this car from an interiors perspective is useless right? Also, FYI - if you tamper with the interiors and get new stuff put instead of what is standard, you immediately void the warranty... so this option is just not practical. With the new Verna and Fiesta offering a big load of goodies, VW needs to beef up its offerings. Some people will still go with VW for its name and German value, but most peopel will flock to the Hyundais and the Fords as of today...
I am planning to buy a car, and frankly speaking I am just surveying around. Car aside, I am paying a bit too much heed towards the after sales servicing, repairs, spare parts cost, etc. Too many pages I have surfed have compelled me to believe that VW is an expensive deal when it comes to after sales. I would really appreciate if you could explain me the cost of the services, repairs and spare parts. I personally feel that the VW footprint in India is not as impressive as Maruti Suzuki or Tata, etc, but if you could just explain me a picture, it would be very grateful of you.
Good question... my view is that in the after sales scenario this car will be as good as any other. A Maruti needs to be services twice/thrice a year for about 3k-5k each time. Means a Maruti servicing will cost you 6k-15k in a year. A VW will need to be service only every 15000 kilometres, so almost just about once a year. So even if in that once a year the cost comes to 8k-10k, it is as good as any other right? Also, it is yet to be really known how the service staff are, polite/fast etc... even if we assume they are not, the car would be better to drive if that is the priority... so given that you will deal with them just once a year, is it really a big problem how the service is? :-)
Thanks for your answer. I would also like to know the spare parts cost or the repair cost as compared to other brands in India. Many sources confirm that VW has expensive spare parts for repairs. What would your opinion on this be?
i had booked vento diesel highline 6 months back, still i didnt get a car, last week they had called and said the vechile was on transit and they requeseted me to make a remaining payment, actually they told me on friday. followed a weekend ,the finance arrangement went bit delay. it was taken jus 3 more working days, but they had delivered a car to another customer, the reason they said was idiotic.said it was a month end. this wat their attitude. i think this jerman group will not survive very long with a indian customer. so before going to book vw. think thrice you have got plenty of choices.
That I agree with... VW has not handled their delivery schedule well... the scenario was obvious given that this is a German brand available cheaper than the Japanese... so this kind of planning was critical... VW has screwed up there...
it's true in my case also... I've booked Vento Diesel, in the first week of Nov, 2010...it's 7th month is running now....but no delivery dates given to me yet! The VW dealers suck !
