Hi..........Sriram, over the period of time i have observed that you have done deep research in VW Polo. Please advise sincerely should i go ahead and buy one. What are the pros and cons of this car.Your suggestion is critical to me.
Hi Anurag, Thanks for you monitor.. I bought VW Polo 1.2L Petrol Trendline 6 months before. I am very very happy with this car. Only thing i should have bought the Diesel :-).... Ok Please tell me your budget & car options?.. Then i will give a well suggestion...
Dear Mr. Anurag, Myself Rubesh.S.G, Muscat. You statement is correct Mr. Sriram research is excellent & its helpful for most of the users. I own VW Polo High 1.2L Petrol. Polo is the best no doubt. which one you prefer Diesel or petrol? In Polo Petrol 1.2L slight knocking sound this is because of 3 cylinder but company's statement no problem & the same confirmed by most of the users & Cardekho team. If this thing I know before buying I prefer polo 1.6L petrol or diesel car (Polo). You can check the same with Mr. Sriram. I feel proud that I have Polo. All the best, takecare, bye
I live in bangalore. When I went to one dealer of vw for a look at polo comfort line about fifteen days back, There was no good response from the sales personnel. I was made to wait for long before some one responding. no proper details of the polo were given. Though polo comfortline has adjustable drivers seat, it is not so good for a tall man like me of 5'11. no vehicle was made available even after taking a weeks time. I went to another dealer after a week and had a test drive of polo comfortline petrol 1.2l. I found the engine little noisy but the new engine was missing the humming or the roaring required of it. Driven with lowered drivers seat thereby close back look for reverse was missing. with this experience I didnot ventured to look at the diesel version. I am still looking for a good diesel or petrol car of 13' long for city with engine capacity of about 1.2 -1.4l
Hi......Sriram,Rubesh....thank you guys for giving your valuable time.My monthly travel is around 1500 KM per month. 6 lakhs is my budget.Though spending 10-15K more is not a problem. Suggest me car in this range, also advise whether it should be petrol or diesel.
Hi Anurag, Ok. I strongly recommend you to go for Diesel car because of price hike in petrol and also your travel distance estimated is little on higher side. I estimated my average monthly travel as 600KM per month. Because my per day usage is only 10KM and occasional weekend travel. But after i bought car, I always prefer to travel by it and now i am almost around 1300KM per month traveling by car.. and petrol price hike makes me to think about the travel. So my recommend is Diesel or if fuel price is not a factor, surely Petrol. Regarding Diesel cars for this price range, VW Polo Trendline, Swift VDI, Hyundai i20 (base variant), Skoda Fabia (base variant), Nissan Micra, Punto, Figo, Ritz all are good in diesel... Each has its own features and advantages. Best Deal : Swift VDI (based on Mileage, Maintenance, VFM)... My Deal (if i am you, i will go for): VW Polo Trendline/comfortline (Best comfort & Quality, Look, Steering, Class, Mileage etc). I heard Ford Figo Diesel is very good but not tested by me. At this price you can buy Figo Top end Diesel. It should be a good buy & VFM.. These are 3 options i provide. i20 is also a good car but resides on higher price with very average quality. I never suggest any car from Hyundai, TATA/FIAT..It seems Punto is good but i dont like it.. I am eagerly awaiting for Honda Brio launch.. If you can wait, wait for Brio to come...But it will be only in Petrol. Please let me know your feedback or any questions... Have a nice car... Drive safe... All d best
Dear Mr. Anurag, most welcome. Regarding Petrol & Diesel car I totally agree with Mr. Sriram reply. But my suggestion before taking decision you must be test drive the vehicle. While test driving you must use both front & back seat. It helps to take decision regarding engine performance, gear shift, comfort, leg space, height, etc. God bless you & he will definitely help you to take decision, please takecare, have a nice day, bye
Hello Mr. Anurag I have a query about Polo....I am planning to buy it's...1.6l Highline petrol version...but due to hike in petrol prices...i though 1.2l D Highline is good.... But should this thing compensate with the life of car...e.g 1.2l D Highline has 3 cylinders but 1.6l Petrol has 4 cylinders...and if we see on the long terms than i though 1.6l Petrol has more life than 1.2d. Also tell me, is Polo suitable for hilly areas with low temperature and steep and inclined roads.
Hi Ajay, we can not define the life of the car/engine based upon its capacity. Only difference b/w Polo 1.2L or Polo 1.6L engine is the number of cylinders & power of the engine... 1.6L engine is nothing but the engine one used in VW Vento. It will have more pickup & power than 1.2L Polo. And less mileage than 1.2L Polo. Only these are the differences. And for sure you can use any hatch back car available in India at any where in India... Life of the car is purely based on how you handle the car.... If you concern about Petrol price hike, prefer a Diesel Car.... Have a nice car. Tc
There is one more factor in addition to sriram's which is the NVH characterestics (Noise, Vibration, Harshness). I have a bought a 1.2 Petrol comfortline. Engine refinement is less. The engine starts with a diesel like vibration. But there after it is good, though not like K-series engines. If there is a plan to go for diesel, Polo will not be a good choice as its too expensive. I suggest Figo which has a 1.4L - 4 cylinder engine and much competitively priced than polo and good fuel efficiency.
Hi... Yes.. Ford Figo is much cheaper than Polo but Ford Figo is no way near to Polo's level.. Ford Figo is the best diesel option available in terms of cost & engine... Then Swift Vdi... Then i20... Price of Diesel top end of polo is Rs 7,06,200* and Figo top end is Rs 5,48,900*... If i am you, i will not buy a car just only for engine and still my option will be Polo even if it diesel... Regarding the noise of Polo petrol, i gave my car for check up.. After that check up, noise is half way reduced.... You also please check with your dealer...
