The comments given here are baseless. This type of review is very obviuos, because the people are going to Toyota showroom for test drive with very high expectations. Then big disappointment. The car is best in all respect if you look at the price tag, car design/space, comfort, and performance. In Rs. 6 lacs range, you are getting a good looking, reliable, standard sedan, and a reputed brand. If you are disappointed with etios, then test drive Corolla Altis and be ready to spend equally good money.

How's the vehicle in comparison to Swift Desire??? Or for that matter Honda City... can some one throw some more light on the issues being discussed in the forum..What about the ground clearance of the Etios compared to the City??

The Toyota Etios is the latest king of the 6-7lakh sedan car segment. Its a very well made car with an superb engine and good fit finish. The efficiency is also high on the Etios and so is the comfort level. Thanks, CarDekho Team

To all those who are commenting in favour of dzire.... Etios is much better than dzire in terms of comfort and performance... only drawback is the engine noise.... And by the way Toyota gives you better service and better car than Maruti Suzuki.... Engines are much better than Maruti cars... Simply dont compare an ordinary brand with toyota... ;)

Test driven Toyota Etios VX (Today - 6 Feb 2011). Really disappointing. Not the one expected from Toyota. Well it seems they have not understood the Indian customer. The car is like the INDICA (10 Yrs ago), Cheap plastics inside, interior color combination distastefull (red with silver and black button in door) - It seems the interior design guys were not paid well. Dashbord like the Nano (Man it is not a 1 lac Car). The speedometer looks as it toyota is making car for the first time. But i appreciate the engine - good minus the sound(Toyota justification - sporty ) I don't think SPORTY means loud sound without the required power and driving dynamics. Spacious - Only Saving Grace. Well the list will go on. I would request prospective buyers to really test drive the car along with other similar brands like Honda (Owns), Hyundai, Ford, volkswagen (haven't test diven) before making any decision.

i am shocked at the reviews of the toyota etois! thought toyota could have given much better interiors and engine! must have been a hastily design! the manza will be a much better car than the etois! lets hope ford launches the new fiesta soon! and knock some sense into the etios crazy bookings!

I havent the faintest idea about who writes the reviews for CARDEKHO and from where they are based, but here is a honest feedback for whoever has written the above review, the TOYOTA ETIOS reminds one of the Toyota Echo and not the Altis, The Echo for the information of all who havent heard of it has been discontinued from all other markets with the introduction of the YARIS, it is being introduced in the Indian Market after it was taken off most other markets worldwide. Apart from that , ENGINE & MAINTENANCE -this car is a work horse and doesnt need much maintenance, INTERIOR & EXTERIOR - the exterior and interior are very boxy and unappealing , the interior has a lot of places for storage, PRICE - At this price (5.2L to 6.2L) this is probably the best buy in the market. The car is slightly overpowered and has been involved in a lot accidents , so speedsters be wary.
