ERTIGA WEIGHT IS 1845 KG , THATS WHY THEY HAVE GIVEN 1.3 ENGINE WITH MORE TURBO THAN SWIFT, THIS POWER IS WELL ENOUGH TO CARRY ERTIGA WITH GOOD PICK UP.

last week I took the test drive of ERTIGA I found the ac was not so much powerful, pickup was fair and comfort of car was good .
For AC problem i am100% agree with u Mr.Raman kumar.AC is not to upto mark i think they have to work on AC.&rear to fill AC on 3row
I took test drive of Ertiga vehicle,it is ok,I believe 1.3L engine is not sufficient for 7 seater,Immage with 7 ppl in the car,how it climbs Up road.it will go like a bullock cart.
if a 150cc yamaha R15 can out perform higher capacity bikes liike pulsar 180 and herohonda karizma 220 why cant an ertiga give competation to innova and xylo.first of all its nota fair comparison .a xylo e8 is 1.7 lakhs expensivethan ertiga and 6kmpl less fuel efficient than an ertiga and an innova is 5 lakhs expensive plus 8kmpl les efficient than an ertiga.an innova is 500kgs heavier than an ertiga and has got only 12bhp extra than an ertiga and both the engines produce same amount of torque at sahough engine cc is important its not everyth.ing
what is more important here is Ertiga is no match to either xylo or innova,but as we say we are looking in a segment which is not yet established perhaps maruti want to move up from wagonR and eec0 or versa, so it has come up with a mocktail know as ertiga , with a concept of LUV and not MPV or MUV. the taste of the pudding lies in 6 month down the line, and volume will speak for itself. as of now best buy on all set parameter (i.e : value for money and performance) the new xylo is the new leader and mahindra has gone way ahead from it initial launch, where as new innova has not been able to update itself as per expectation.
Some important facts that have been overlooked while criticizing the Ertiga for its seemingly underpowered engine is that the Ertiga weighs just 170kg more than a Swift and has a light car-like monocoque chassis as opposed to the body-on-frame construction found in a heavy MUV like the Innova, giving the advanced 1.3L engine adequate pulling power to haul the light weight Ertiga around with ease. The power to weight ratio for the Ertiga must definately be on the higher side, which cancels out the possibility of any shortfall in power delivery. Moreover, a reputed company like Maruti-Suzuki will certainly not stake its reputation by dumping an underperformer in the market without being sure of its credentials. And the aircon which performed efficiently in the Swift will certainly not be found inadequate to cool the compactly cute Ertiga either.
