mahindra xylo almost wins you over

I recently bought a Mahindra Xylo, and my overall experience has been satisfactory. I will give it points for fitting the car with an engine that they engineered on their own, and it works just fine too, and lives up to my expectations and also the needs of my family. Since we tend to travel quite a lot, the overall make of the car really does match the demands of the Indian roads, and gives me a mileage of 8.7kmpl in the city and a 12.2 kmpl on the highway. It is a pleasure to drive the car, especially in rather hilly and rough terrains because of the power and tilt steering system, and also the drive assist system. But the suspension does tend to give me trouble sometimes, much more if the car is loaded to its capacity. And the promises of a smooth ride are shattered as soon as I speed up. Because given the soft suspension setup, the drive turns into a bounce-all-the-way fest. And as powerful and impressive the engine is, the sound that it makes is a bit of a spoil-sport, more so when I am in the mood for a quite drive around the town. Technicalities apart, the car isn't much of a beauty paegant winner in the world of cars, but that doesn't bother me much. And though the interiors are spacious, there is enough legroom, and there is a provision of flatbed seats too, the boot space is a bit of a disappointment. Plus the fact, that the third row isn't foldable puts you down a bit. But hey, you can't have it all at once, right? All in all, the car has its own share of flaws and advantages, which is acceptable. My opinion? It is worth the money.
