It's owned by Mahindra so not a JV.

last one year having done research on Renault Koleos and Duster, Xylo 500, Ford, BMW, VW Passat, Tata Xenon and Aria. But this beauty is convincing me in the way of style, comfort, interior design as well as elegant outer features. in comparison to the BMW Suv, this is my choice to enjoy driving comfort as well as style for a long time. Now on May 2013 Mahindra is selling 12000 Ssangyong units a month. It is making a dent in the Toyota fortuner sales. Apart from available statistics this is also quite easily perceivable from the fact hat if you go to a Toyota dealer you don't have to wait that long anymore for any of the fortuner models. Interrior looks plush, Back seat isn't so comfy though, Equipments are state of the art, E-tronic manual gear shift on the Auto models is fun. top speed 194 km is breathe taking, 11.6 seconds from 0-100 wallops the racy sniggers like a piece of cake, Spped sensitive power steering gives you great manoeuverability. Ok it is not as imposing as fortuner, at least doesn't look so, but the price is absolutely enticing in comparison. ESP takes control of stability and brake, Great torque and power gives u a good feeling. Well After sales service depends a lot on dealer tradition. But Mahindra engaes one of there own person for supervision of quality service. Having said all that Globally Toyota is a much vaunted brand far ahead of the competition but models toyota sale in the price range is globally out dated. But then That is the plight of \Indian Car market...Ssangyong is a great effort, hope it will continue to excel..
