I agree with you Ajoy. My experience on Honda Brio is same as yours. I have also found a useful details review on brio mileage in the following website. which is stating the similar thing.

My sugesstion is after owning it for more than 4 months, check the magic of mileage of honda brio if you ECO lamp is constantly on. Be careful on that and your mileage will be very high. If your ECO lamp is off or constantly blinking, your mileage will be poor.

which car shud i buy btween the new maruti ritz 2012 zxi and honda brio V MT ......it will be our 1st family car of 4 members.....wid a normal 5.8-9 inch heights....... do giv me genuine and overol experience.... petrol version only.

the only drawback which i feel is the all glass back which is very dangerous for passengers sitting at the back
