hi, i think your review not based on facts. i using beat. i driven my car on very bad riding conditions but i got very good milege and all over satisfactory performance.good space, no noice inside, very good pick up, in 44' temp, ac make me cool with silently. dear dont write any thing before complite testing. it may be possible you driving it badly... please dont mind..

Yeap, I do think so... Even I dont like WagonR..... All Maruti cars have less space and you can't drive along with ur family for a long time and the long ways contineously. You have to take a break.

But Bet sure when after sales service comes Maruti's no.1. Maruti's Wagon R the new one is quite better than the previous one it has driving pleasure. but it also depends on how much a person can spend on after sales maintainance and service .
Its your own opinion. The Wagon-R is based on latest design. On highways its a very successful vehicle, we were visting Badrinath with this vehicle and its performance is so good. Please do not comment before testing. Neeraj

Even a truck goes more than 5 km/l if empty. Did you check full tank to full tank? Even if you drive continuously on 2nd gear it will give more than that, I think either you are joking or you are a dealer of a competing brand of car.

I am planning to Purchase Beat LPG LS, I would like to know Its Mileage, Noise & AC. When we are talking about LPG then there is two kind of different measurement , one is Liter & another is KG. So average base on KG or Liter? If its giving only 12.5 KMPL then its very bad average.. I need really experience comments because on that basis i am gonna make decision... Expecting True comments.. I am also owning Beat LT and I have covered 20,000 Km since two years, I have drive this car in almost all roads, Ghat sections etc, its my pleasure to drive this car and it gives 19 kmpl on High ways, and not less then 14kmpl on city roads. its a good car, I feel very proud of my car

The best car now in the industry is new tata vista, its on road price is around 6.5lak for desiel full option without airbag and it have all the features of a sedan, and the space offering is amazing.. Swift and new vista have the same engine, amazing pulling and giving milage of around 20km with AC...
beat is 100times better than vagon R
Baba think twice before going for wagon R. 68 bhp in paper only. if 4adults with AC on wagon R is a disaster. Go for Ritz or i10 or even santro is better.

I am a mechanical engineer and driving all kinds of cars for last forty years. My first car was a Dodge Kingsway Custom Deluxe, in fact I had two. My last car was Opel Corsa Sail 1.6. I bought a Chevrolet Beat on June 30th 2010 and self driving it for ten and a half months on all kinds of roads including the city traffic of Kolkata. I will not compare it with Rolls Royce Merc or Audi, but in its class and price bracket, it is definitely one of the best and worth buying. Suspension is superb, inside space is quite good, driving quality is good, very good turning circle, stable while cornering at high speed (must be in a lower gear - for any car), brake gives you confidence. No complains - except luggage space could have been a bit bigger, also taking out the spare wheel could have been made easier. If you muffle engine exhaust noise too much in any car, it will reduce engine efficiency. At lower rev it is practically noise-less. You have to look at the RPM meter to be sure the engine is running, while idling! It is that quiet. You have to declutch fully for gear shifting in any new non-automatic car. If anybody says there is gear problem then either that particular car is defective (which can happen in any mass production) or the person driving the car does not know how to drive (...sorry to say, but true). Any new car, before it is run in (at least 5000 Km) will give a lower Km/Liter with AC on and if driven in city traffic, than what is claimed by the manufacturer. It is true for all cars. If you like the looks go for it without hesitation. Only check the quality of the authorized service center of General Motors India in your locality. Ranabir

Hey i agree with watever u have to say for the car...driving experience while u r in the car is awesome....i was worried about the gears for I bought my beat just about a month ago but whatever u hv said allays my fear ......however i am facing problems with the pick-up....it was bad (especially with the ac on) when i had bought it and after the first service its lil better but not so much with the AC switched on...did u face the same or does that happen with a new car???...
Let the engine run-in for at least 5000 KM before it is free and will become more efficient. Be sure to go for the mandatory service in time. With small cars pick-up is bound to be affected by AC, specially Beat has a 1.3 ton AC! How ever the pickup problem I faced while the car was only a couple of month's old was reduced by 80% after it clocked 5000 km. So no need to worry. But don't expect it to behave like a 3.6 Liter Merc with and without AC no car in this price range and segment will do it, if somebody says so the person is lying. But I can assure you the difference in pickup with and without AC in Chevy Beat (after the engine is run-in) is much less than most of the cars in the same segment. But beware of the Beat Diesel being launched in mid July. I think it is grossly under powered. Its only aim is fuel economy at the cost of pickup, driving comfort and AC. I came across a gossip that it is going to use a 3-cylinder version of the Fiat Punto's 4-cylinder engine! Do test drive it before you decide.

ur absolutely true i had the same feeling with beat,the engine noise is less because chevy uses chain system in engine insted of belt so very less noise u don't believe i forgot switched off my beat for 15 mins standing beside it talking to my friend we didn't notice the sound at all
totally agreed. As I m also using Beat from around 3 months, this is pure class. Compare to Wagon R or any other Maruti car , Beat is better( except Swift). The only thing is luggage space. No Noice..... Superb car I Love My CHEVY BEAT. PRANAB BISWAS

The Beat Diesel makes an excellent choice in the diesel small car currently. It also is the most fuel efficient diesel car currently with a claimed mileage of 23kmpl.
Beat diesel really gives good mileage, but please don't expect the same pickup as the 1.2 liter petrol version. A diesel engine of the same capacity as a petrol engine gives less power - but greater fuel efficiency, higher low RPM torque - useful for city driving as it needs less gear shifting. In case of Beat, the diesel version is 1 liter where as the petrol version is 1.2 liter. So I have some doubts regarding the A.C. cooling efficiency and pickup. If your aim is a crowded city driving and maximum fuel economy, go for Beat diesel without second thought. But if you don't mind sacrificing a bit in fuel economy I would recommend Maruti Suzuki Swift diesel. Though I like the looks of Chevy Beat better, personally.

Hi, I own a BEAT and is nearly one month. Before the first service I got mileage of about 15km. No sound inside and the AC is too cool even at noon. It give me a smooth ride and the interior are good. In my Beat LS I got Pioneer music system installed with JVC speakers. Sound is too good. Overall its a cool car. It is much better than Alto, as i have used it. Not used Nano so no comments on that. I drove many cars like Santro, WagonR, I10, Maruti 800, Esteem, Zen and Beat. I like beat for the comfort and smoothness it gave. I never felt tried after the ride in BEAT. Enjoy the BEAT.

Hi... There are many options for you as your price range is 3 To 4 lacks. I think you should go for Maruti A-star Zxi. Its in all sense better than Wagon-R. Also it meets International standards. It comes with dual airbag and ABS which we do not get in any other car of that range.

I am bit inclined towards Beat because I can get the same features as i10 in cheaper price with Beat. Hi! tI am driving Beat LPG since last 3 months,the power is not compromised and the auto transition from petrol to Lpg once the engine reaches 40 temp is smooth.With the recent petrol hike Lpg cost per KM is aroung 2.60 ps Vs 5 rs of petrol,Lpg is clean fuel and the engine life is enhanced.The petrol price hike is bound to continue hence best bet. Cng 6 kg tank weight is 90 kg's hence it is not a good option.
LPG is only when you drive long every day for normal use (once in a while) petrol if you dirve 40 km and above a day go for diesel.Pickup is not good in LPG, yes if you are environment friendly person go for Green

You may be working for the competiter of Chevrolet.... Because your comments are not based of fact... It's rear seat leg room and sport sound at high speeds are the usual complaints against beat... But in this segment only ford figo and Tata Indica vista gives better rear leg room... From my experience, it gives good milage, very comfortable front seats, powerful AC and good after sales service (Service network is not good, But getting very good service from trained staffs) Don't feel bad...

hey man are you crazy? i also own a beat lt o.p.it is amazingly superb. its engine is very very very silent. Jab main Ac on karta hoon tabh bhi koi aawaz nahi aata! ac pe bhi ye car bohot accha milage deta hai. it gives around 16.5 to 17 on ac. and when the ac is off, it gives (18 to 19)kmpl.

yes your choice of buying beat is a good one. Beat is the best hatch back car. I have bought it last year and its performance is the best.Its milage is around 20kmpl(petrol) on highways and 15-16kmpl(petrol) in city. AC is very good. Overall a best car for small family.

I just rcd Beat 1.2LT a week back. Need time to comment on the vehicle. But the response from Chevrolet company is pathetic. They have not offered me the Rs 5999/= offer of 3years/45000km free maintenance from Chennai Sundaram Motors(TVS). They have not even responded to my mail dated 16th Aug 2010.After sales Service, response to customer feedback and efforts to make good any lacunae is very essential for a product to succeed in this competitive market. After having bought a Honda City car from Capital Honda,Chennai 5 years back I still enjoy their unflappable hospitality and immediate response to any car related queries.Wish Chevrolet/General Motors picks up the rope fast.A good quality car should not get sidelined because the customer is neglected once the vehicle is sold.

Hi, I am using Beat LT model from April 2010. Infact, I thought of buying Maruti Swift but the test drive of Beat made me to change. I am 6 feet tall and still feel comfortable to get in and out of the vehicle. Riding comfort is very good and it can be maneuvered easily even in a congested narrow bumpy roads. AC is too good when compared to other hatchback cars. Rear seat leg room is spacious. The front cockpit design dashboard gives me more leg room. It is giving 14-15 km/l in the city. Hope it may increase 1 or 2km more after first service. I bought from Sundaram motors in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. Their customer service is very good and more friendly. Regarding the CONS, 1. Even though the buttons on the Inbuilt mp3 player are bigger, it would have been better to have a REMOTE control. 2. The boot space is very less (170L only). For small (2 1)family it is fine, because it has folding rearseat (60:40) 3. Antennae is too lengthy. In general, the BEAT surely BEATS others.

i am forced to drop out of beat club because of poor dealing and response of chevorley company. there market executives are untactfull and show attitude. they fail to comply with offers pledged in there ads, shows poorly on company's credibility. you feel insecure to deal with companys who fail to keep their word. offers of free 3 yrs service etc were denied to me by dealer at ferozpur, punjab, may be company has poor control over its dealers. variations and flexibility to suit dealer at customer's cost indicates to poor management, low credibility surely to lead to trust deficit. surely company is going to loose raise for market shares, otherwise a good car-- not recommended to deal with.

I have test driven the Alto K10 , and going by the brand value Maruti has it is a good car , However if you are looking for something Dashing and Value for Money , GO FOR THE CHEVVY BEAT. Its great !! .

i went to Chevrolet dealer M/s Star Motors, Nagpur, to buy BEAT. I found that management of this showroom is not well trained and lack of co-ordination between them. they took 2 hrs to check that when they can get my required accessory (power window).
Hi all, I have gone through all comments. From my experience and knowledge i would like to say. I bought Beat LT (optional)recently from TVS Sundaram Motors, Chennai. Hospitality and response is very good from the dealer. Earlier, I have selected 4 cars--i10, WagonR, Beat and Polo. Finally, I have selected Beat after driving test drive and gone through the specifications and features of the said cars and the comments/advice from my relatives / friends with regard to dealers response and after sales service for the said 4 cars. The most important aspect i have selected Beat is the Chev. company is giving free maintenance for (3 years or 1 lakh km) and also getting all features like Aut. climatic control a/c, ABS, Air bag with good music systems alongwith Corporate Discount other accessories for free like, Boot mat, Mud flap, Floor mat and Chev. Car cover for Rs.5,04,000 in this segment is really good, which i did'nt see this benefit/features in Higher end model of i10 or Polo or in WagonR. I feel Polo and i10 are costlier in this segment. In city, i am getting milage around 14.5Km (based on how we are driving). I have no comments about milege on Highways as i did not went so far. The car is very smooth and there was no nosie inside. A/c is very cool. Particularly, the Petrol outlet has been kept right side of the car, which is convenient for us to fill the petrol. Most of the cars, the petrol outlet has been kept left side, which we have to get down from the car to check the metre. Earlier there was a problem in the clutch (particularly in 2nd and 3rd gear) which has been rectified by the company. Very Comfortable and luxurious car in this segment. Excellent.

Hi folks i am driving BEAT since March, I am done 15000 Kms till date I am absolutely happy with performance of the car in terms of pick up & style AC is perfectly cooling all the time, after 7 months when my CAR moves on road than my regular office route people take a second look on my car which actually make me feel proud to own it and interiors are specious & stylish. On an average mileage i find is 13-14 Kms within city (A/C) & Highways 15-16 Kms (A/C). looking @ the cost this car is best in its segment & just chevrolet has to work on there customer service coz after sales the service is pathetic.

Dear Friend Technically speaking Beat is a 4 cylinder engine with 80.5 PS power where as polo is 3 cyliner (except for one model in petrol 1.6L (Petrol)) with 75 PS and 1.6L (Petrol) comes with a 105 PS (which is a remarkable powe in this segment but come with an extra investment of 1.5 lakhs. Nano and Alto is not even half on its PS value. Alto is said to give 18.5 kmpl. Which do you think is better? A Sporty flavored car that gives you 15 kmpl with power of 4 cylinders and 80.5 PS or the the Atlo with 3 cylinders with 47 PS which gives you 18.5. If mileage is was the criteria then this is not the car for you, better go for some diesel sedan. This is for someone who wants a sporty feel (performance and economy). Who ever has posted the first comment has hardly used this car ( atleast dont compare with Nano and Alto) . It is a combo of beauty and beast . I can bet the person commenting like this about any car is hardly experienced . I own the chevvy beat and its the best hatch back in that price range. With 87 bhp output from a 1.2 ltr engine and good AC I dont expect much . I did Pune to Bangalore in flat 9.5 hours with harldly any engine noise and after this journey I'm proud to be a Beat owner . I could cruise at good speeds ( between 150 - 160 kmph ). If you need power I guess you have to bargain on efficiency . I did get an average of 16 Kmpl with 50% AC . My beat has done 9000 kms in 4 months and that is evident enough how much I love driving it . And the interiors are more or less like a SEDAN with good leg space for both front and rear seats . Of course there are some negative areas like the front clearance as the dash board is a little higher , but gradually you get adjusted to the same. If your budget is around 4 lac go for it . It is indeed VALUE FOR MONEY . And about the pickup issue , I guess not many have understood the technicality of the Engine developed for Beat . It is a dual fuel injection engine . At lower RPM that is within 2000 it is only one fuel injector at work hence lesser drag ( with in city and hence not required ) above 3000 rpm both work giving the vehicle enough drag to pickup good speeds this technique is to help fuel efficiency and avoid unneccesary strain on the engine .

The Chevy Beat is definately the better looking car as compared to the Wagon R that looks a bit boxy and plain. I dont understand why some are gussing and comments , I own a chevy beat for the last 5 months and I will am sure that I its a kind of a car with character which suits only with the persons with a character . Its not for the people who does not have any character. SO far in india there is no other cars like chevy beat. I am sure all car manufactures are cheating us with outdated models with cheap build quality.That means this car is not a match for the people who still say labretta and chaetak is still the best. Hi Bhavin Shah, your description is not sufficient - like when the noice is more - while driving at high speeds, even when the windows are closed etc I bought my chevy beat ls in nov,2010 after researching for 2 months. I found it quite impressive in every aspect right from wheel base - technical things - comfort - stealth looks - to every every aspect. When I drove my car at a high speed of 110 kmpl I also noticed noice from my wheels(with my windows opened). This is because of the vents in the wheel base which are necessary for cooling the high speed rotating wheels. You can compromise with the sound as it is normal for all car types. You have chosen an excellent car - enjoy.
Hi, Than for reply noice is at driving at speed of 60 to 70 kmph , even when windows are closed , its lots of road noise I also have an i20 but it is very smooth on high speeds without any road noise inside the car Bhavin
I got changed my rear shock absorber rubber bushes which prevented noise inside when the doors closed. Why dont u try suggesting this to the service person. I think this will definitely solve your problem.
This problem was known to General Motors who notified all their authorized service centers to replace the rear shocker upper bushes free of cost.
to listen to noise at high speeds you need to close your eyes and listen carefully

I dis-agree with the review of chevy Beat being the worst car, I have been using Chevy beat since Feb 2010, the vehicle is just great and have never been a failure, it does average of 14 KMPL to 16KMPL at time, the engines is very refined and just great, I have driven this can to a max speed of 160 KMPH on highway, it handles very well, interiors can be well compared to a premium sprts car, it is best fit to its price tag fellows. You shouldn't mind having a look at this car for yourself if u are considering a sporty looking hatch back without making dent in your pocket. This car is well worth buying it. But if you still have a good budget then thr is nothing better hatch than the Hyundai i20 - best in all aspects but expensive too and next obvious choice would be Volkswagen POLO - lakh rupees cheaper but great quality.

Go ahead I have booked BEAT LT DIESEL its a great car ,has a very good auto AC, superb music system,great interior,LED display makes it look different than its competitors.once you start vehicle you have to check again whether it is on or not because engine makes no noise at all. GO FOR IT (only LT model )as LS and PS have no AUTO AC and inbuilt music system.

Hi Friends i own Chevy Beat as i see all the comments out of it the one who comments good about chevy Beat i agree i almost drove 10000 km in 1 year and as of now 2 service completed and i didnt face any problem yet and i am getting a mileage of 17kmpl (with AC) and 18.5kmpl (without AC) in highway and 14.5kmpl (with AC) and 15.5kmpl (with out AC) in city and its performance is very good. but i dont agree with the person who says it give 5kmpl, i think the person should learn driving first who says it gives 5 kmpl. The only disadvantage of the Chevy Beat is its rear space, rather than nothing and also the diesel has good performance and its ground clearence is increased to 175 mm from 165 mm of petrol model, No cars give such a beneficial while comparing to other cars.

Hi Friends, i agree with some friends who says about the boots space, MP3 USB jack which is small and totally difficult to use the USB jack etc, but i see the GM considers the valuable say of the customer who use BEAT and they did the changes in diesel and new petrol and LPG version has some advantage than when BEAT was luanched they have changed the USB jack and the ground clearence of front Bumper is increased and the Idling power is good and increased where u get more mileage and i can understand some friends say the vehicle displacement gets dropped when AC is on offcourse it will drop when u drive ur car in a improper RPM with improper gear, try once with driving the car in proper RPM with AC u wont face this problem but its 1.2 litre engine sure all cars will have some drop (not more just a mild) in pick up with AC

beat diesel is also a good car but it has a diff of 1 lakh than petrol version its good class car which gives 24km/l and also approved by arai.....
What are you saying man????????????? Beat is a good car. Hey, you should not drive any car. If you think it makes a lot of noise, its totally wrong. I think rather than the car, your mouth makes more noise.
Guys! Went thro your comments.. After going thro the official Website of Beat, I found beat coming with 3 cylinder now.. I really don get the difference between a 4 cylinder and 3 cylinder.. Can someone explain plz? and tel me whether the latest specs still promise the same quality?? Kindly help!
Hi, 3 cylinder will be good for mileage. But space is also a very big constraint. Try Etios Liva, best for now

Hi guys .I have done a lots of research,Some how it looks like beat is a clear winner, but The confusion is beat petrol version vs beat diesel version.As i am concerned about the mileage without much compromising on pick up.Keeping in mind the the diesel version in Bangalore costs approximately 5.23 lacs while petrol ver is 4.39 lacs.So there is difference of almost 1 lac so will that be worth going for diesel version.This is going to be first car.So can any one advise if i can still use petrol in diesel version cars...Your comments will be much appreciated ...Thanks

Reviews are not 100% fact, person to person basing on their experience.May be particular car might have performed bad due to certain manufacturing defect or some poor maintenance.No one will accept their mistakes, wants to pass on to some one.May be certain reviews are in this same base. I am using U VA LT really its great car, may be fuel consumption slightly higher when compared to MARUTHI. But GM wont compromise on safety, weight may be more, keeping lower engine, may be ignored by GM. otherwise GM cars are good, our mind set is popular brands of MARUTI, TATA, Hyundai. Overall GM cars are not so bad, if you wont compromise on safety.

Guys I have a question to all who says that Beat Petrol gives very good mileage. Can you pls let me know how do you calculate mileage as I own Beat petrol & it gives 9 kmpl in city & 14 kmpl on highway so I really wonder how come it gives 12+ in city & 17+ on highway for ppl writing on this forum.

i am going to buy diesel beat, i dont care about pickup and all but the milage should be high, as we are getting new car for running long, not for just to keep at home. and if your running long then the running cost must be low. so i m planning for diesel beat, just worried about maintenance cost for diesel engine. can any one give better suggession. ?
I am using a Beat diesel from last 1 year, the maintenance cost till now has been literally 0, except the changing of engine oil and wheel balancing. The only problem with Beat is the leg room and the boot space, as it is a tall boy and I am a 6 ft tall guy, it's leg room and boot space is comparatively smaller than swift and Ritz (I hope), the best thing is its 936 cc engine which makes it maintenance free. But make sure, once you speed it beyond 130 km/hr, it will not respond you and the horsepower is also very poor, you will have to change gears to overtake any vehicle....

no beat is better than alto,nano,wagnor,ritz,i10&figo go search for the reviewz in net...iam using beat itz great only prblm with the speaker system...!!!
