Maruti Alto give average based on how you ride the car ! I have friends for whom it has given 22 kmpl average on delhi jaipur highway. He always drives the car at around 80 Kmph and avoids sharp brakes. If he has to stop at redlight more than 30 seconds he switches off the engine. Similarly another friend gets average of just 16 on highway, he is one reckless driver who drives his Alto at 120 kmph. So the average is very much dependent on the style of driving also. There is no one average that can be told for Maruti Alto zero

My experience shows that I get around 15 in the city and 18 appx on the highway. With the rising cost of petrol, this is one economical car to own. zero

My experience shows that I get around 15 in the city and 18 appx on the highway. With the rising cost of petrol, this is one economical car to own. Optimum milage however is linked to driving style and Maruti itself recomends excellent ways to maximise milage. The everlasting beauty of a maruti is the cost of spares and the no. of service stations. Once a Maruti owner, always a Maruti owner. Derek zero

I am completely shocked by getting this good mileage. As I leave in Mumbai and in Mumbai traffic running on full AC I get around 15-16 Kmpl that is great. Compared to other hatchback cars this is the cheapest and has best mileage and as it is a Maruti car it has the lowest maintenance cost. I would say it is the value for money car and itâ€™s after sales service is best and also it has a good resale value compared to other cars. It even has good comfortable seating and great handling. zero
