Hi , I would like to know that what is the process of calculating RoadTax for cars whose RoadTax has got expired(after 10 years), and needs renewal. Is there any penalty charges for non renewal of Road Tax if the same is not paid after expiry past 1 year

This is in regards to your query posted on the website CarDekho.com, we would like to inform you that you have to give 3 photographs, address proof and one fourth amount of the given RTO price at the time of purchase. The vehicle is tested and then the renewal of RTO is issued. In case if the road tax amount is not deposited on time then a certain amount of penalty is charged.

Thanks for your reply, but since I am the second owner i do not exactly know the amount of the given RTO price at the time of purchase. so any thumbs rule in determining the cost as well as the penalty charge?
