sir , im in love with diesel cars after test driving figo and punto diesel varients. also their fuel economy has impressed me a lot. mine is a mixed driving, some month 1000 to 15-1600 km and some month even 300-500 kms. kindly guide me about choosing between diesel and petrol in detail.

The Petrol variant of Ford Figo and Fiat Grande Punto deliver better power and performance than diesel. Maintenance also cheap. But diesel variant is better for long drive and good mileage.
According to your drive distance the diesel engine car will better than petrol.

Diesel saves @3 per km as per current price gap. Premium of around 115000 of diesel car can be recovered by clocking 38k kms. So just check the paid off period. Below 2 to 2.5 yrs is ok. Repair cost of diesel cars are now not so costlier, thanks to technology. Special note- Resale value is higher in diesel.
