Renault Pulse RxL

Renault is a renowed company of France and is in auto manufacturing since 1899. The joint venture of Mahindra and Renault was ceased in 2010 and since then Renault is trying to bring in action its strategies for establishing its presence in the Indian car market. Renault Pulse has been launched in the Indian car market to increase the market of the company in India, as the company wants to be present in the competitive car market of India. The Pulse was unveiled at the time of Formula 1 racing held in 2011 at Noida. Renault Pulse was officially launched at the Auto Expo, 2012. The diesel version of the vehcile was launched at this grand occasion and the petrol versio of the vehcile was launched later in 2012. Renault Pulse RxL is a part of the top- down strategy of the company to establish the brand in the Indian car market. The entry level hatchback car of Renault will be launched in India for the first time. The Renault Pulse RxL has a Renault K9K dCi engine that is quite efficient and is meant to enhance the performance of the car. The diesel version of the car was launched first because of the rising demand of the diesel vehicles in the Indian car market due to increase in the price of the petrol. Renault specially devised the rate of the Pulse for the Indian market so that the car is affordable for India. The new vehcile of Renault is packed with the all the necessary and luxury features to suit the requirements of the Indian audience. Renault Pulse is basically a small hatchback car by built. Although the car is small in size, yet it is spacious and roomy from inside. Renault India is eyeing big business through this small car in India. This hatchback car has been specially designed for the Indian market by Renault’s Design Center in Mumbai. The project of the designing of the car was completely handled by 11 Indian designer's team who worked on this project for two-and-a-half years.

Exterior

The Renault Pulse RxL offers all the features of a premium compact car. The Renault's Design Center in Mumbai involved 11 members team to do a reserach on the requirement and needs of the Indian customers and that was how Pulse came out. The car has apt features looking at the rapidly growing Indian premium compact car market. However, Nisaan's existing V platform is used by Renault to produce Pulse that has reduced the development cost of the vehcile for the company. The front of the Renault Pulse RxL is much sharper with the elevated crisply styled beam H4 follow-me-headlights. The front grille are hexagonal and in black color that comes with typical Renault matt black center section. The body colored bumpers are something that makes the passerby's to glare at the vehicle. The door mirrors of the vehicle along with the pull type door handles with green tinted glass mark the side profile of the Pulse. Even the wheels, of the car steal the show with the sporty appearance. The rear end of the car is more intresting with curvy and wavy looks. The rear spoiler of the car comes with the high-mount stop lamp that protects the small rear windshield which comes along wiper and washer. The vehicle comes with the sufficient boot space of 251 litres. The kerb weight of the car is 970kgs. The complete length of the car is 3805mm, complete width of the car is 1665mm and the complete height of the car is 1525mm. The wheel base of the Renault Pulse RxL is of 2450mm.

Interiors

Renault Pulse RxL comes with all smart and intelligent interior features that helps position Pulse at the top - end of the A-B segment of the car. The Pulse has arched roof and big and roomy cabin. The Renault Pulse RxL is a five seater hatchback with a plum and black dashboard that gives the vehicle a posh feel . The dash board of the vehcile looks decent with the HVAC controls, completely foldable four AC vents (two in centre, two in sides), integrated CD player and a happening unique circular control looks amazing on central console. The Renault Pulse RxL comes with a diamond shaped Renault logo on the Leather power steering along with a steeply placed glove box that completes the look of the dashboard. The wide legroom space and headroom space of the cabin of the vehcile, gives it the extra looks to the Renault Pulse. The drivers seat is manualy adjustable in the Renault Pulse RxL. The five speed manual gearbox comes wrapped in leather. The Renault Pulse RxL also has additional features like power steering with electric power assistance, tilt adjustable steering, front and rear power windows, folow me home headlamps, electrically adjustable ORVM, central locking for five doors, integrated audio system with four speakers, etc. The legroom of the car is exceptional and has a 251 litres of boot space.

Engine and Performance

The Renault Pulse RxL has a Renault K9K dCi engine that is quite efficient and is meant to enhance the performance of the car. The engine is capable to churn out an output of 63bhp at 4000rpm, along with the maximum torque of 160Nm at 2000rpm. The K9K dCi in line engine of the Renault Pulse RxL has 4 cylinder, 8V SOHC configuration which is efficient to push the car . The Renault Pulse RxL has a common rail diesel fuel system. The vehcile has the fuel tank capacity of 41 litres. The Renault Pulse RxL gives a mileage of 19.4kmpl on the city roads and 23.8kmpl of mileage is provided by the car when it is being used on highways. The Renault Pulse RxL has a top speed of 158kmph and the car engine can achieve this speed in just 16.27 seconds which is quite coomendable. The Renault Pulse RxL complies the BS IV emission norms of the country.

Braking and Handling

The Renault Pulse RxL comes with the ventilated disk brakes in front and drum brakes on the rear end of the vehicle. The diesel variant has a 14 inch steel wheels that comes in a size of 165/70 R14 radial tyre . The Renault Pulse RxL has McPherson Strut as the front suspension and comes with torsion beam as the rear suspension.

Safety Features

The Renault Pulse RxL has a good number of safety features like Front drivers air bag, anti- pinch safety function on the driver side window, child proof rear door locks, etc. Engine immobilizer, head restraints are present at both, front and rear, high mounted stop lamp and speed sensing auto door lock functions are there for the protection of the passengers of the car.

Comfort Features

The Renault Pulse RxL comes with a top notch music system with four speakers. The other comfort features of the vehicle are: roof antena, on board trip computer, key less entry, tacho meter, door ajar warning, key off reminder, etc.
