Dacia is a Romanian car maker and is a completely owned subsidiary of Renault. Renault Duster is a robust SUV with rugged appearance and was the most awaited vehicle of the year because it is the cheapest SUV with high ground clearance and enhanced appearance. The Duster has chrome front grille and robust looking wheel arches.  SUVs are meant to be bulky but the new Duster is smaller in context to its dimensions and can challenge any rough terrain. The Renault Dacia Duster has been built on the platform of Nissan B0 with an overall length of 4.31 meters and a complete width of 1.82 meters. Duster has all the features of a true SUV and it is fit for off roading as well as for using in the city roads. The weight of the new Renault SUV is lesser and has a compact size that makes the SUV agile on any piece of land. The Duster has passed various tests in almost all the terrains round the globe before it was first launched in 2010. Renault and Dacia will form a very youthful line-up in the Indian market. The four wheel drive option has been derived from Nissan which gives a choice to adapt the transmission as per the power needs and road conditions. The Renault Duster 110PS Diesel RxL has been powered by a 1.5dCi, 4- cyl, in- line diesel engine with CRDi fuel system that is mated to a 6 speed manually transmitted gearbox. The Step 4 version of the K9K engine gives a power output of 108.3bhp at 3900rpm.

The high tech safety features incorporated in the Renault Duster are: Anti-lock Brake System, Emergency Brake Assist besides Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and a stability control module. The Renault Duster 110PS Diesel RxL comes in Metallic Woodland Brown, Metallic Fiery Red, Pearl Supreme White, Metallic Moonlight Silver, Pearl Galaxy Black and Metallic Graphite Grey colors. The exterior of the Renault Duster have a perfect appearance of a off-roader. The SUV has been manufactured on the platform of Nissan B0 and has been built with the technology that it can used for ride on all terrains, whether rough or smooth. The wide chrome grille, high ground clearance, alloy wheels, roof rails, antenna and the skid plates gives it a flamboyant look. The front of SUV has a three slate grille with a big Renault badge in the center. The Renault Duster 108.3bhp Diesel RxL has a horizontal grille with a pair of double optics headlamps. A sleek body color bumper in the front gives way to black plastic cladding which houses round fog lamps on either side of the bumper. The bonnet of the SUV is all flat with no curves and the large tinted glass windshield gives way to the high roof of the vehicle. The Duster has an overall length of 4.315 meters which is just shorter than its big brother Renault Koleos, along with a width of 1.822 meters. The Duster 110PS Diesel RxL has a ground clearance of 205 mm for front wheel drive option. The height of this SUV is 1695 mm.

Interiors

The interior features of the Renault Duster 110PS Diesel RxL are similar to those of the Renault Logan. Being an SUV, the seating capacity of the Duster is for only five passengers at a time. The cabin of the Renault Duster have a all black theme which renders a sporty look to the vehicle but misses the luxury quotient of the car. Steering wheel of the vehicle have 3 spokes that is electrically powered and has mounted audio and phone controls. The dashboard of the car is curvy with shiny brown center console and AC vents on either sides. The Duster has a big glove box along with large dials in the instrument console in red. The SUV has cushioned seats with good head room and good legroom space which makes the car perfect for long drives and touring.

Renault Duster 110PS Diesel RxL has a 1.5dCi, 4- cyl, in- line diesel engine with CRDi fuel system that is matted to a six speed manually transmitted gearbox along with the two wheel drive option. The fuel tank of the Renault Duster is of 50 litres. The engine of the Renault Duster is capable to churn out an output of 108.6bhp at 3900rpm. The maximum torque delivered by the engine to the vehicle is 248NM at 2250rpm. The SUV is quite efficient being the high end top model of the Renault Duster and gives a mileage of 19.01kmpl.

Braking & Handling

The Renault Duster 110PS Diesel RxL has a hydraulically operated diagonal split dual circuit braking for effective braking system. The front wheels are embedded with ventilated disc brakes while the rear wheel comes with drum brakes. The front suspension of the vehicle has an independent McPherson strut with coil springs and anti roll bar. Whereas, the rear suspension of the SUV has torsion beam axle along with coil springs and anti roll bars.
