Micra Active XV S Review

One of the most popular passenger car manufacturer in India, Nissan has came up with a surprise package for the Indian car enthusiasts. It introduced the all new Nissan Micra Active model line, while launching the facelifted Nissan Micra in the country. This came as a complete surprise for the auto enthusiasts and its affordable pricing excited everyone. This new Nissan Micra Active is the most affordable hatch you can purchase from the fleet of Nissan Cars in the country. This new version looks identical to the outgoing Nissan Micra but minor changes have been made to the exteriors. This made it look muscular and a bit sportier than the previous model. This model lineup comes with the same 1.2-litre DOHC (dual over head cam shaft) based petrol engine that was also under the hood of outgoing Nissan Micra versions also. However, it is a less powerful engine but offers better mileage, which is interesting. Most of the technicalities of this version have been retained from the previous model. There are overall four variants have been introduced in this series starting with a price of Rs. 3.50 lakh (ex showroom, New Delhi). Out of these four variants, Nissan Micra Active XV S is the top end variant in its series. The company looks to increase its portfolio in the country will help in improving its market share in the automobile segment.

Exteriors:

The exterior design of the new Nissan Micra Active XV S trim is much identical to the outgoing model. However, some minor changes you can notice in the form of a new design headlight cluster and sporty new design bumper. Its headlight cluster is tweaked which reveals more details. While the radiator grille is small, the company's logo is placed on the bonnet. Below this is a sporty new bumper with a large air dam and air ducts that gives a muscular look to its front facade. Its side profile is has been crafted with black colored OVRMs and door handles, while the wheel arches gets a robust set of 15 inch steel wheels, which are further fitted with wheel caps. When it comes to the rear design of this hatch, it gets the headlight cluster from its earlier version while the body colored bumper have also been retained. Customers who are interested to purchase this new hatch will get the option to choose it from six different color shades. These color shades include Blade Silver, Turquoise Blue, Olive Green, Brick Red, Onyx Black and Storm white that suits perfectly to this hatch.

Interiors:

One should step inside this new hatch, Nissan Micra Active, which doesn't give you a feel like it is the low cost version. It gets a plush interior cabin with dual toned environment. The company has made some refinements to this hatch that brings the richness and elegance to the cabin. While the entire design remains to be the same as its previous version but still you can experience a fresh feel inside its cabin. It gets a stylishly designed dashboard with four AC vents and a beautiful central console with a lot of control switches. Also, there is a three spoke steering wheel assisted by electric power and it is further crafted with company logo on it. Its interior cabin also gets a stylish gearshift knob which is wrapped in leather. Its wide and spacious seats are fully covered with premium fabric upholstery. There is a lot of legroom, shoulder-room and headroom space inside the cabin that assures best in class comforts for about five passengers. At the rear, the boot has 241 litres of storage space capacity that helps you to store a lot of luggage.

Engine and Performance:

This Nissan Micra Active XV S is the top end version in its series and it is blessed with the 1.2-litre engine. This engine has 3-cylindersand 12-valves, which is integrated with DOHC valve configuration . This engine can displace at 1198cc , which can produce a maximum 66.64bhp at 5000rpm and yields a maximum 104Nm of torque at 4000rpm. Also, this engine is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that boost up the performance of this hatch and improves its fuel efficiency. The company has claimed that the new Nissan Micra Active has the ability to returns a class leading mileage of about 19.49 Kmpl, which is unbelievable.
