Wagon R 2013-2022 LXI Optional Review
Maruti Wagon R LXI Optional is a mid range variant in this model series. It comes with a moderate range of features for the interiors and exteriors. Powering the vehicle is a 998cc engine made of an all aluminium light weight design. The power of the drive-train is insulted with reliable safety features, such as child proof rear door locks, a front wiper, a driver seatbelt warning lamp and tubeless tyres. The interior of the vehicle exudes a pleasant and comfortable aura, with a two tone colour scheme. Fine upholstery dresses the seats, giving an exquisite feel for the occupants. A range of comfort features reinforce the drive experience, from an air conditioning system and a heater to IP integrated push type cup holders. Also present is a digital fuel indicator, a tachometer, a glove box and a floor console with cup holders. A 12V power socket allows occupants to charge devices without strain. A foldable utility hook grants additional access to comfort, giving passengers ease of storing clothes within the car. The exterior vision of the car is rendered attractive with a more precise body shape and an element of sportiness in its look. The wheel rims given an affluent note to the appearance, while the tinted windows give a more distinguished persona. Chrome highlights are present by the front and rear, imparting a more fascinating look. The roof rails strike a more modern and progressive tone for the vehicle, and this is further bolstered by the neat body lines and pleasant curvatures.
Exteriors:
A notable feature of this vehicle, is that it is the tallest car in its class. At the front, it has blue tinted headlamps that make for a distinguished look, along with the chrome accentuated grille. Body coloured bumpers are present for this variant, giving a more harmonious look. The outside mirrors are also body coloured, along with the door handles. The flared fenders add vigour to this overall profile. The moon rock silver roof rails give the car a unique touch. The amber coloured side indicators and the side body mouldings are also highlights of the side profile. At the rear, there are crystal effect tail lamps that come with all necessary lighting units. A chrome back door garnish vitalises the appearance by the rear.
Interiors:
The cabin has been decorated in a dual tone beige and black theme, giving the occupants a more energetic environment. The seats have been modelled on fine ergonomics, ensuring the least discomfort for the passengers. A dual tone 3D plush upholstery also adds value to the drive experience. The instrument panel and the inside door handles come with a silver highlight for a more enriched feel. The moulded roof lining and the needle punch floor carpet also make for expensive design elements. Beside impressive looks, the car has also been gifted with several comfort aspects, from a luggage parcel tray and adjustable headrests to a sunvisor, an interior rear view mirror and a vanity mirror for the most pleasant and strain free drive.
Engine and Performance:
The car is equipped with a K10B petrol engine, which comes with an all aluminium light weight design. It consists of 3 cylinders and 12 valves, and displaces 998cc. It generates a power of 67bhp at 6200rpm, together with a torque of 90Nm at 3500rpm. The engine has been designed to meet the BS4 emission standards, ensuring a cleaner yield in addition to sound performance. A 5 speed manual transmission provides a constructive channel for the train's power.
Braking and Handling:
There are ventilated discs for the front brakes, and drums for the rear, giving the vehicle a stable hold when driving. Beside this, the McPherson strut has been rigged onto the front axle of the chassis, while an isolated trailing link equips the rear axle. Coil springs have also been mounted onto both axles, enhancing the handling quality of the drive. Beside all of this, an electronic power assisted steering system also boost control when driving.
Comfort Features:
Power windows are present at the front, relieving hassle for those occupants. Then, there is a central door locking system to further augment comfort for the passengers. The front seats come with a reclining and sliding feature, while the rear seats come with a 60:40 split folding arrangement. 3 foldable grip assists are also present, along with map pockets by the front doors, a push type I/P storage box and a front passenger under seat tray. A remote fuel lid and tailgate opener gives maximised convenience.
Safety Features:
The Anti lock braking system prevents locking of wheels when braking. In addition to this, there is a driver SRS airbag, together with a collapsible steering column. The car's energy absorbing body structure includes side impact beams, enabling a reduced level of hazard during mishaps. 3 point ELR seatbelts are present for all occupants, keeping them well secure through the drive. The front halogen headlamps come with a head levelling device, offering additional visibility when driving. An intelligent computerised anti theft system ordains safety for the vehicle.
