6 Series 640d Design Pure Experience Review

India's luxury car maker, BMW has a number of splendid vehicles in their fleet, among them 6 Series Gran Coupe is probably the most luxurious vehicle built by the German automaker. It is being sold in two variants, out of which, BMW 6 Series 640d Design Pure Experience is the top end trim. It is powered by a 3.0-litre twin power turbo diesel engine, which is mated with an eight speed automatic transmission gear box. This vehicle takes only about 5.4 seconds to breach the 100 Kmph speed mark, which is quite remarkable for this class. It has the ability of churning out a maximum power and torque outputs of 313bhp and 630Nm respectively. It is integrated with a driving experience control system including four different modes like ECOPRO, Comfort, Comfort+ and Sport. These modes change the functionality of brakes, accelerator and transmission to improve the performance and fuel efficiency. The company has incorporated its internal cabin with a slew of sophisticated comfort features like BMW Head-up display, which projects the navigation instructions and current speed of the vehicle and a 'Night Vision' pedestrian recognition system featuring an infrared camera that reveals the objects up to 300 meters. Furthermore, the car maker has also incorporated an integral active steering system that allows the rear wheels to turn up to a maximum speed of three degrees, which eventually makes the driving simpler. However, the main highlight of this coupe is its sophisticated external appearance owing to its extremely sleek body structure. For giving it an alluring look, the manufacturer has given it a signature radiator grille, sleek bonnet, large windscreen with a set of rain sensing wipers and so on. This vehicle is placed against the likes of Jaguar XF, Audi A7 and Mercedes Benz S Class in the Indian automobile markets. On the other hand, it comes with a 2-year standard warranty period regardless of its mileage. At the same time, it also has a 12-year warranty period for its body work and three years for its paint.

It comprises of six cylinders and receives fuel through the latest generation common rail direct fuel injection technology. Furthermore, it also has a multi stage turbocharging unit featuring variable turbine geometry. This enables the motor to churn out power and torque of 313bhp at 4400rpm and 630Nm between 1500 to 2500rpm respectively. This diesel mill is paired with a sophisticated 8-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission gear box, which collaborates with BMW Driving Experience Control to provide excellent driving experience.
