Vanquish V12 Review

With the name that needs no introduction in automobile industry, Aston Martin has come up with all new Vanquish V12. This high profile British company has just introduced the most expensive Aston Martin in India. Let it be the engine, transmission, comfort, safety features it’s almost an impossible task to find any fault in Aston Martin Vanquish V12. The car flies from 0 to 100kmph in just 4.1 seconds and that says everything about the engine and transmission. Vanquish is a D+ segment car that has interiors and exteriors to die for and is a successor of Aston Martin DBS. Under the hood this high class car has a 6 litre V 12 engine which will take anyone’s breath away with 295kmph top speed . This car is a powerhouse of features that Indians might not even have the tiny bit of a clue.

Exteriors

This 2 door coupe car has a seating capacity of two passengers. The length, breadth and height measures out to be 1246 mm X 1819 mm X 4408 mm respectively. There are a total of 7 color variants with each variant having a different interior to give an eye popping graphics. Bridgewater Bronze, Selene Bronze, Kopi Bronze, Mean Green, Onyx Black, Skyfall Silver and Volcano Red are the 7 color variants. The level of detailing makes Aston Martin Vanquish V12 highly distinctive from every other car that is out there. The body panels are made of carbon fibre which not only increases the overall strength of the outer structure but also enhances the beauty. The kerb weight comes out to be 1853 kg. With killer looks and brilliant structure, this car will certainly blow up your mind.

Interiors

In Aston Martin Vanquish V12 one will find the best of the best that is out there. This car has a full grain leather interior which one can further customise as per his/her needs if necessary. The seats are electrically operated and have a memory function to remember the last used configuration; the seats can be heated too in case any need arises. It is a power house fully packed with entertainment system. With 13 speaker audio system it can produce up to 1000W of bang and destruction, there is a 6.5 inch LCD screen which can be integrated with ipod or iphone . The Garmin satellite system will guide you to every location in the world so you don’t get lost. A fully laminated windscreen and heated rear screen are surely good features.

Engine and Performance

Now when it comes to the engine, Aston Martin has done wonders in this car. Aston Martin Vanquish V12 has a 48 valve, all alloy, 5935 CC V12 petrol engine which delivers a maximum power of 573 PS that’s 565 BHP at 6750 RPM and can generate an extraordinary torque of 620 Nm at 5500 RPM. It has a single clutch unit which doesn’t affect the overall performance of the car. The engine is fully catalysed with stainless steel exhaust system that has active bypass valves . Now shifting over to transmission, it has a 6 speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters which has an alloy torque tube with carbon fibre propeller shaft. This can make it go as fast as 295 km/h. The touchtronic transmission system is rear mid mounted. When it comes to suspension it has got a makeover with lightweight aluminium sub frame with hollow castings. The front suspension has an anti dive geometry while rear has an anti lift geometry which makes it more aerodynamic. The damping system is quite adaptive with three stages adjustability namely normal, sport and track modes.

Braking and Handling

Aston Martin Vanquish V12 has a speed dependent and electronically controlled power steering wheel which is of rack and pinion assisted type. Talking about the tyres, the front one is a 20 inch 255/35 ZR 20 and the rear one is 305/30 ZR20 type which are both manufactured by none other than Pirelli company. Both brakes are ventilated carbon ceramics disc brakes but differ by two piston clippers and 28 mm diameter. The front brake has 6 pistons and 398 mm as diameter while rear has a 360 mm diameter with 4 pistons. To add more control it is installed with dynamic stability control and torque control.

Safety Features

“With great power come great responsibility.” this phrase is quite simply made for Aston Martin Vanquish V12. It has 8 airbags so that not even a small scratch is caused to either the passenger or the driver. Both rears as well as front parking sensors are equipped for easier parking. ABS (Anti Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and ESP all combines to provide a good overall safety. Fog lamps, parking sensors, cruise control, seat belts pretensioners, side impact beams are some of the basic features. The body is made up of a composite of aluminium, magnesium alloy and carbon fibre.

Comfort Features

With dual zone climate control, the air conditioner in Aston Martin Vanquish V12 is very powerful, the power seats and power steering is just the tip of the iceberg. The Alcantara headlining is too good to be left unnoticed. The exterior mirrors and rear screen can be power heated and so can be the font seats. The automatic temperature control and cruise control are great attractions. Vipers automatically detect the rain and the headlamp can be automatically configured to power up. A trip computer keeps track of lot of data such as two separate trips, checks the engine and other sorts of warnings. Remote fuel lid opener and remote boot, rear defogger, adjustable steering wheel, integrated DVD player on dashboard , tinted glass, clear noise insulation layer on windows, are some of the many features. While the company offers a lot more features to choose from only but if you are willing to spend a lot of extra cash.
