Deep into my thoughts I often wonder how it feels for a carmaker to develop an entire new model from just a sketch and finally present it to the customers. That butterfly effect is still not known to me, but I am sure its much more than what I felt just before submitting my high school project (It was a stupid Fire Alarm!). But lets not dig deeper in my past and keep our heads on the upcoming cars in September.

The launch is always a crucial moment for a carmaker and September, being a month close to the mega festival Diwali, automakers have lined up more than half a dozen new cars in the last 9 days of the month. The game starts from 22nd when Lamborghini will launch the Huracan. Here is the list:

Lamborghini Huracan: 22nd September

The Gallardo replacement carrying a 5.2 liter V10 is slated for the launch on 22nd September. This road legal sports car is capable to churn a hefty power of 610bhp and 560Nm of peak torque. The V10 is mated to 7-speed LDF dual-clutch transmission which promises quick shifts with the help of paddle shifters. The baby Gallardo is capable to knock that 100kmph mark in 3.2 seconds with max speed of 325kmph. It's coming to steal your hearts on 22nd, so interested buyers clear those offshore accounts!

Renault Duster AWD: 24th September

Renault Duster AWD

The humble compact SUV powering all the wheels is coming on 24th September. The much awaited 4x4 model will surely mark its name to Indian enthusiasts who love to drive on roads less traveled. Powering all the wheels is the same 1.5 K9K dCi diesel unit which generates a power of 108.5bhp (110 PS) and peak torque of 248Nm. This all wheel drive model is only available in 110PS version and shares most of the styling cues with the Adventure Edition. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and comes with shift-on-fly four-wheel-drive system.

VW Vento Facelift: 24th September

Volkswagen will bring the updated Vento on 24th September. The saloon will feature a new 1.5 liter TDI turbo diesel engine, ditching the 1.6 TDI and even the diesel model now comes with the 7-speed dual-shift DSG automatic gearbox. Vento facelift will embrace similar changes that were seen on the updated Polo recently. The sedan now gets new dual-bezel headlamps, updated grille alongwith a tweaked bumper.

Mahindra Scorpio Facelift: 25th September

Finally joining the race is the Indian manufacturer Mahindra, which brings in the updated Scorpio. The rugged SUV gets a complete cosmetic and mechanical updates on the new model. The SUV lock horns with Renault Duster (which is also getting a 4WD avatar soon), Tata Safari (mild-facelift is expected soon) and Nissan Terrano. The SUV embraces day-time-running-LEDs, LED taillight while interior boasts of a completely new dashboard, new instrumentation cluster with a large multi-information screen along, the revised central console gets a large screen touchscreen infotainment system (expect satellite navigation) and automatic air-conditioning. Power comes from the same 2.2 liter mHawk motor with better fuel economy.

Skoda Rapid Facelift: 30th September

After the launch of overpriced Yeti, Skoda is prepping up for the second launch of month with the Skoda Rapid Facelift. Belonging to same VW family, the car shares mechanical similarities of Vento. The same 1.5-litre TDI engine that does duty in Polo & Vento is placed with VW’s dual-clutch DSG automatic gearbox. The saloon is expected to be priced in under Rs 10 lakh. The car lock horns with upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, market leader Honda City and the sleeky Hyundai Verna.

Mercedes Benz GLA Class: 30th September

To be launched on the month’s last date, Mercedes Benz GLA Class. Up against the likes of Audi Q3, BMW X1, this premium SUV is expected to be launched somewhere in the price bracket of Rs 30 to 35 lakh. The vehicle will be brought via CBU which will be the reason for its higher pricing. First showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, the car is expected to be launched initially with GLA 180 petrol and GLA 200 CDI and later a GLA 250 4MATIC variant could also be announced. Under the hood, the SUV gets 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine, capable of 155 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque and a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel mill which develops 135 bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque. Both engines come mated with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
