Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the facelifted Camry and its hybrid derivative at INR 28.80 & INR 31.92 lacs respectively. Showcased at last year’s Moscow International Motor Show, refreshments on this new model are just the cosmetic ones, while the powertrain has been left unchanged.

In terms of exterior changes, the new Camry gets a redesigned grille with a strip of chrome on top of it, LED-infused headlamps, large air intakes, chrome-surrounded rectangular shaped fog-lamps, new tail lamps and 10-spoke alloy wheels. While a new multi-function 3-spoke steering wheel, bigger 4.2-inch infotainment system, backlit instrument cluster, wireless mobile charger, heated rear seats and wood-finished centre cluster are some of the major updates on the inside.

As mentioned above, no changes have been made under the bonnet. The new Camry continues to be propelled by the same 2.5-litre petrol engine, good for 160 PS and 213 Nm of peak torque. While in combination with an electric motor for the hybrid version, the max output jumps to 205 PS and peak torque stands at 233 Nm.

Like the earlier-generation model, the new Camry follows the same CKD route assembled at TKM’s plant in Bidadi, Karnataka, in a bid to keep costs low.
