Like other car makers, Tata Motors India is also planning to introduce a couple of products in the next year's Indian Auto Expo. The company is working hard to enhance its market share in the country and will launch at least two new cars in 2014. As we reported earlier, the homegrown automaker will introduce a new compact sedan and a hatchback next year, and both models are part of the company's new project named Falcon.

Ranjit Yadav, head of passenger vehicle business unit said, “These will be completely new, performance-oriented models with consumer benefits focused around driving pleasure and connectivity, and the first proof-point to consumers that there is a new Tata Motors in the passenger vehicle business”.

After a gap of three years, Tata Motors will introduce the two new models in the passenger vehicle business. The company launched the Aria crossover MPV in 2010. Both models are developed with the help of inputs from the company's technical centre in Europe, and will come in both petrol and diesel versions.

Both vehicles are based on the re-engineered X1 platform on which the Indica Vista and Manza models are built. The same platform will underpin many more models in the future. Tata Motors also planning to export these models to International markets such as South Africa, Indonesia and Thailand.
