Tata Indica and Indigo to get a price hike

Tata Motors is likely to increase the price of its passenger cars, Tata Indica and Indigo, with an important  amount. The new price will come into effect from the next month of October. As per an internal communication among the top officials of Tata Motors, the company intends to raise the prices for  minimizing the effect of increasing  input costs, particularly the tyres.

The internal communication also indicated important price increase in Indica and Indigo from October 1. Though, when a spokesperson of Tata Motors was approached for commenting on this recent  development, he declined to do so. It is also worth mentioning here that Hyundai Motors, the other auto giant has increased the prices of its vehicles from this month itself.

From September 1, Hyundai Motor India has raised the prices of its vehicles by up to 1.2 per cent. This revision in the prices was required for balancing the increasing input costs, especially that of commodities. Hyundai sells models like Verna, Santro,Hyundai i10, i20 and Sonata. Maruti Suzuki,  country's largest car-maker, has also made an announcement about the increase in prices.
