Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport

Porsche has come up with a race focussed version of its car Cayman GT4. This version has been named as Cayman GT4 Clubsport and has got numerous similarities with its predecessor in terms of engine and tunings. While the Clubsport runs on the same 3.8 litre engine as that of Cayman GT4 delivering 380 bhp, the track-focussed version gets the Porsche’s dual-clutch PDK unit for transmission unlike the standard version (which gets the manual gearbox). Suspensions have been deployed from the 911 GT3 Cup race car and they take care of handling characteristics of this race focused car.

Braking is provided by stunning 380mm steel discs assisted with Electronic Stability Programme (ESP). Six-piston callipers with the steel discs provide greater braking force at the front wheels as compared to the rear wheels having four-piston callipers. ABS is adjustable offering 12 tweaks as per the need. The passenger seat too has been removed to replace it with a roll cage. The safety of the driver is maximised by putting a bucket seat instead of the usual one.

Porsche says it plans to homologate the car for use in a number of sportscar racing championships around the world, including the Pirelli World Challenge, the Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge and club races run by the Porsche Club of America.
