The next-gen Ford Endeavour (known as ‘Everest’ in the neighbouring countries) is set to make global production version debut mid-next month. If media reports are to be believed, the Blue Oval company’s new Endeavour is coming on 14th of November. The vehicle is developed by Ford Australia for the developing markets and is based on the ‘Everest Concept’ that the company has showcased at several motor shows and also the test mule has been spotted numerous times. Indian launch is expected next year.

On the design front, the new Endeavour is built from scratch - new platform, design and interiors. Looking at the Everest concept which is the near production version of the SUV, the overall design is more streamlined compared to the boxy looking ongoing model while interiors are reportedly borrowing styling cues from the 2015 F-150 pickup. Speaking of the features, expect SYNC2 infotainment system with touchscreen unit, AppLink smartphone integration and Emergency assistance amongst others.

Mechanically, the SUV is likely to get a 2.2 liter 4-cylinder and a 3.2 liter 5-cylinder TDCI units globally. Both of which are borrowed from Ford Ranger and are reportedly reworked and retuned for better efficiency, driveability and power.

Though both the engines are not offered in the current Endeavour that we are getting but Ford India could revive the engine line-up this time at least the 2.5 liter TDCI unit if not the 3.0L one. Speaking of the transmissions, expect a six-speed manual box compared to 5-speed manual unit in the ongoing SUV, expect an automatic option too as current Endeavour also offers it.
