Tata Motors that has recently given a facelift to its entry level sedan, the Indigo Manza, which was not doing as good in terms of sales, possibly because of the lack of features. So this time the company has given it a makeover in terms of features, helping it look better and more premium than before. The new Indigo Manza club class that already had the best-in-class cabin space, now gets the black leather Italian upholstery, a chrome instrument cluster, new gear knob, fully automatic air-conditioning, first-in-class touch-screen multi-media interface with in-built GPS, enhanced styling with Infinity Contrast Roof , 8 split-spoke alloys and some more, however no mechanical changes have taken place. So if we look at the car from the features perspective, it is now unquestionably the best car available at this price.

The facelifted Indigo Manza club class will be replacing the earlier version, so it has come out in both petrol and diesel engine variants at a staring price of Rs 5.70 lakh and 6.49 lakh respectively (prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi). Where the petrol version returns the mileage of 13.7kmpl, diesel returns an impressive 21.02kmpl. The Indigo Manza comes in two engine options; 1.4-litre Saffire90 petrol and 1.3-litre Quadrajet90 diesel, both churn out the equal 89bhp of power output, however the peak torque churned out by the petrol and diesel versions are 116Nm and 200Nm respectively. So if all things are put in place, the new Indigo Manza Club is surely going to heat up the competition.

So here CarDekho presents you a detailed comparison between the all new Tata Indigo Manza Club class and the other two closest competitors Swift Dzire and Toyota Etios on the parameters of Pricing, looks, features and mileage.

New Tata Indigo Manza VS Swift Dzire

Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire being the segment topper is certainly the closest competitor against the all new Tata Indigo Manza Club Class. When it comes to looks and exterior styling, we personally think that the Indigo Manza is a little better than the Dzire, however where one is a compact Sedan, other is a full fledged one. On both pricing and mileage, it is the Swift Dzire that comes out as a clear winner. But when the discussion comes on the list of features, it is the Indigo Manza that takes the lead, having some best-in-class and first-in-class features.

As far as the engine performance is concerned, the petrol variant of the vehicle produces the maximum of 85.8bhp and 114Nm of torque by the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol, which proves it to be equally powerful as the Indigo Manza. But when it comes to the diesel engine, Swift's 1.3-litre DDiS engine, producing the 73.9bhp is lesser powerful. However these figures are quite impressive for a compact Sedan. Then comes the mileage, here the Swift Dzire takes the clear lead.

New Tata Indigo Manza VS Toyota Etios

Toyota's flagship sedan, Etios is the second closest rival of the new Tata Indigo Manza, which has been doing great for the company in terms of sales, it is in fact one of the top selling cars for the giant in India. Now when the Indigo Manza has been revamped, it is obvious that the competition for Etios too has raised. On the parameters of exterior looks, Toyota Etios is certainly better than the new Indigo Manza, however the interior quality and appearance of the new Tata Indigo Manza is way better.

Then comes the pricing, where the Etios' petrol variant of the vehicle costs lesser, but the entry level diesel variant of the Etios is about one lakh higher than that of the new Indigo Manza's entry level variant, so here the new Indigo Manza takes the lead. On the engine performance, the Etios petrol having powered by the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine is a more powerful mechanism than both Indigo Manza and the Swift Dzire. However the diesel Etios is the least powerful among three, so Tata Indigo Manza clearly scores more in this department than the Etios.

New Tata Indigo Manza VS Ford Classic

Ford India that recently revamped and renamed the Ford Fiesta Classic as Ford Classic, is one more nice option available in the segment. Tata Indigo Manza, which was lacking in features and interior quality, has been successful overcoming those problems with the new version. So now the comparison between these two cars goes more fierce.

Price wise, we will keep both at the same level, however the diesel variant of the new Tata Indigo Manza is more competitively priced, so that takes a lead there. When it comes to performance, Ford Classic has got better driving dynamics, handling, power output. However the new Indigo Manza definitely scores in terms of features, spaciousness and comfort. In fact in terms of mileage as well, it is the Indigo Manza that comes out as a clear winner, although Ford Classic too is quite decent.

New Tata Indigo Manza VS Nissan Sunny

Nissan Sunny is no doubt the best-looking car of this segment and has got some superb features that makes it a close rivalry of the New Indigo Manza. Nissan sunny also has a decent space, ride quality is equally impressive; but when it comes to a complete package or value for money car, then the new Indigo Manza is the car one should go for. It has a frugal engine, performance wise as well it is better than most cars available in the segment including the Sunny. While in terms of fuel economy, both are alike, however the NVH level of the diesel sunny is higher, one can easily feel that at high RPMs. But on the parameters of interior quality, we still feel that new Indigo Manza is behind the Sunny, the plastic quality used for interior isn't good as the Sunny.

So go for Nissan sunny, if looks and top notch material quality is your concern with other important factors, else Tata Indigo Manza is a complete package.
