Mercedes-Benz has stopped the production of its insane off-road vehicle, G63 AMG 6x6, to ensure rarity of the model. The company still has sold over 100 units of the six wheeled SUV with three axles and five differentials. The G63 AMG 6x6 is powered by an AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine that s puts out a peak output of 544 hp and 760 Nm of torque. All the power is sent to all the six wheels as needed through an AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission. Being 5.87m long, 2.30m tall and 2.10m wide, the G63 AMG 6x6 is as extreme an off-roader can get with huge 37-inch tyres, 159-litre fuel tank and 460mm ground clearance.

Mercedes-Benz is looking to replace the G63 AMG 6x6 with a more conventional four-wheeled G 500 4x42. The G500 4x42 gets a smaller 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine putting out 422 hp. The off-road features include permanent all-wheel drive, an off-road reduction in the transfer case, portal axles and lockable three differentials. The G500 4x42 also takes the enclosed wagon body style instead of the pickup short-bed of the G63 AMG 6x6.
