Maruti Suzuki SX4 Cross spotted testing lately in the NCR region near the company's manufacturing facility. The SX4 based crossover has been captured numerous times online and it looks like Maruti is giving some India centric touches compared to its European model. The SX4 Cross was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo along with Ciaz concept. Adding to it, looks like Maruti is banging the market with series of launches and updates, first it was Celerio, Ciaz, Swift facelift and Alto K10 and Swift Dzire are also expected anytime soon. Speaking of the Indian oriented alternations according to spy shots, the vehicle is likely to receive minor design changes like different set of alloys (not the machined ones in the European version), roof rails missing while tail lamps seems to be retained. On the inside, interiors is set to remain same as shown at the Expo, expect the 7-inch SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system as seen on the Ciaz. It would also feature slightly tweaked grille.

In the European market, SX4 Cross comes with 1.6 liter petrol and diesel engines but its very unlikely that Maruti will bring this motors to India. Expected engines are similar to the ones powering the Ciaz sedan – 1.3 liter DDiS 200 turbo diesel (88.8bhp, 200Nm) and 1.4 liter K-Series VVT naturally aspirated petrol motor (91bhp and 130Nm). Speaking of the transmissions, petrol is likely to be offered with a 5-Speed manual along with an expected automatic while diesel could get a 6-speed manual unit. Like its European sibling, the car is expected to get Suzuki's ALLGRIP AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) technology.
