Maruti is aware of the anticipation and excitement that Ciaz sedan has gathered since the expo. As per the certain images hovering over the internet, the company has already started the production of the upcoming Ciaz ahead of its launch in the staring week of September.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

Ciaz will revive Maruti's presence in the mid-size sedan space since the aging SX4 as it is hardly making Maruti's presence felt in the segment. Just like the new name 'Ciaz', the sedan is also brand new and resembles nothing like the SX4. Moreover, the Japanese samurai will compete with the sales king Honda City, the flamboyant Hyundai Verna, the Italian bling Fiat Linea, the American Ford Fiesta and the spacious Nissan Sunny.

On the feature front, spy shots reveal that the Ciaz is as contemporary as its rivals. The dual-tone dash offers goodies like automatic climate control with rear AC vents, touchscreen infotainment system, etc while on the outside it gets projector headlamps. Prices are now-a-days very competitive from almost every manufacturer and this is Maruti so expect cut-throat prices of this upcoming sedan. The nomenclature of Maruti cars will be same as the outgoing Marutis and it is reported to be available in 7 exciting shades.

The engine specs probably going to be same as of Ertiga, oil burner would be the same Fiat Multi-Jet derived DDiS diesel motor featuring variable geometry turbocharger and petrol would be the K14 naturally aspirated motor. As already known, 1.3L DDiS turbo diesel produces 88.8bhp (90PS) and 200Nm of max torque which would be probably linked to a five speed manual.

The petrol will be the Suzuki's K14 motor that debuted in Ertiga, the 1.4L engine that belts out 93.5bhp (95PS) and 130Nm of max torque. Maruti is likely to equip this motor with an automatic CVT along with a regular five speed manual.
