Maruti Retails 1,11,748 units in April 2015

In the month of April, Maruti Suzuki India Limited retailed a total of 1,11,748 units compared to 86,196 units in April 2015. The automaker also exported 11,039 units in April 2015.

In the entry level car segment which includes Alto, WagonR, the carmaker sold 35,403 units this month compared to 26,043 units in the same month last year. The compact segment which includes Swift, Ritz, Celerio, Dzire is the most sold segment for the automaker, as it contributes to the total figure by 42,297 units while in April 2014, it was 38,926 units thus posting a growth of 8.7 per cent. In the C segment, the automaker sold 4,662 units.

Also in utility segment which includes Gypsy, Grand Vitara and Ertiga, the carmaker retailed  4,452 units while Eco and Omni together contributed 12,069 units.

The company also posted net sales of INR 48,605.5 crore during FY2014-15, a good 14 percent higher than the previous fiscal. While their net profit witnessed a phenomenal one-third jump to INR 3,711.2 crore, up against 2013-14.

For the last quarter (January-March 2015) of the fiscal, the carmaker retailed 3,46,712 vehicles, posting a jump of 6.7 percent as compared to same time last year. Out of which, exports stood at 29,542 units, a growth of 12.4 percent.
