The facelifted version of the Indian Maruti A-Star which is sold as Suzuki Alto in the Chinese car market has been caught in lens recently. The spy pictures reveal that the car gets cosmetic changes on the front end which now flaunts a brand new set of headlights.

The new front grille has taken an extra few inches this time which makes the car look more aggressive and attractive from the front end. The front bumper has been rendered a new and fresh shape and it now holds larger fog lamps. The new designing has been perfectly extended to the rear end as well where the car gets redesigned bumper as well as taillights. The A-Star facelift has gained 70mm in the overall length.

The new version is strictly a mid-life cosmetic uplift as there has been no change done in the drivetrain as the car is still powered by the 1.0L 4-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of producing a peak power of 71bhp and a peak torque of 92Nm.

The engine would again find two transmission options - 5 speed manual and 4 speed automatic. In India, the Maruti A-Star has been recently gratified with a minor uplift; however a facelift won’t do any harm and a launch by Diwali can still be hoped for.
