Maruti Ertiga launched at Rs. 5.89 lakh

The waiting period for the magnificent Marurti Ertiga MPV has finally ended today. The leading car brand of the country Maruti Suzuki India has launched the much-awaited MPV today at the company’s headquarters at Vasant Kunj in New Delhi. The Maruti Ertiga has received enthusiastic promotion and is likely to treat the company with success that the earlier utility vehicles like Maruti Gypsy and Grand Vitara couldn’t manage. This new car has been named by the company as LUV short for Life Utility Vehicle. The tag-line granted to this new MPV, ‘A feeling called LUV’ surely promises an enthralling experience. Maruti Ertiga is available in seven color and six variants in India, three each with petrol and diesel engines.

The petrol version will derive power from the debutant K14B petrol engine from the Maruti’s K-series and is capable of pumping out a max power of 95 PS and a max torque of 130 Nm, both at 4000 RPM. This petrol engine is light weight and has an Advanced VVT system with low friction and low NVH. The diesel version is powered with 1.3 liter MultiJet DDiS engine sourced from Fiat that drives a peak power of 90 PS and a peak torque of 200 Nm, both at 1750 RPM. Maruti Ertiga is said to deliver impressive fuel efficiency of 20.77 kmpl and 16.02 kmpl for diesel and petrol versions respectively.

Maruti Ertiga has been blessed with appealing looks that are exemplified by its sophisticated and harmonious design. The narrow structure of the car helps in easy maneuvering through the unorganized city traffic. The freshly designed sweeping headlights are flanking the slim chrome grille; the body-colored bumpers and big air duct infuse a sporty feel to the front of the car. The side profile and the rear end are a perfect blend of simplicity and elegance.

On the inside, Maruti Ertiga gets a plush beige theme which speaks luxury from every corner. The three-row seating arrangement is perfectly capable of accommodating 7 passengers. There is ample legroom and headspace; the second row has a 60:40 split and the third rows can be folded in order to enhance the boot space. The boot space initially is 135 liters which be extended up to 735 liters depending on the configuration. Other important features that have paved their way in Maruti Ertiga are: sports twin AC, audio controls on the steering wheels, MID, ABS, driver and passenger airbags and climate control feature (in top end variants only).
