Mahindra & Mahindra Achieves Milestone of Manufacturing 50 Lac Vehicles

The home grown manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra today achieved a milestone of manufacturing 50 lac vehicles and what's the better way than to celebrate the achievement with company workers who have made it possible. A human chain of 3000 workers was formed from Air India Building, Nariman Point to Girgaon Chowpatty in Mumbai.

In the above picture, Mr. Pravin Shah, Chief Executive – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra can be seen waving his hand to the human chain of 3000 workers from the Kandivali Plant, Mumbai, for commemorating the production milestone of 50 lac Mahindra vehicle.

The year 2014 was a remarkable one for the company as it introduced the next gen avatar of Scorpio. The all new Scorpio boasted features like new swept back headlamps, day-time-running-LEDs, vertical slat grille while rear gets D shaped LED taillamp cluster. It gets a new touch screen infotainment system while some features like rain and light sensors are carried forward along with cruise control and TyreTronics.

Last month, the automaker witnessed a growth of 5 per cent as it retailed 17,311 units of passenger vehicles compared to 16,436 units in December 2013. In December 2014, company’s total auto sales stood at 36,328 units against 39,611 units during same period in 2013. The company’s domestic sales stood at 34,460 units during December 2014, as against 36,881 units in the same time frame in 2013, while the Truck & Bus division registered a growth of 92% with 843 units.
