The Kia K9 rear-wheel drive, christened as Quoris for the markets apart from South Korea, is due for sale in selected countries from the 4th quarter of 2012. In the Korean market the K9 sedan is available with V6 3.3-litre engine which is capable of churning out 296bhp and a 3.8-litre V6 with a 329bhp power output. The engines will be mated to 8-speed automatic transmission.
The overseas market is expecting, the Kia Quoris with a Lambda V6 3.8-litre MPI with 286hp of power output and 3.8-litre GDI engine which is capable of 329bhp. A V8 option is also expected for the North American market. The Executive Vice President for Kia, Thomas Oh said that the striking new sedan with the unconventional name “Quoris” that conveys solidity, luxury and high-technology, all resonating together as a chorus, will stand out from the established crowd and help Kia drive sales in the global automotive market.
